Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Oversee the continuous operation of the boiler system.
∎ Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with relevant boiler legislation (e.g., ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, local/regional regulations).2.     Safety Assurance:
∎ Monitor and ensure the boiler's safe operation, including all safety protocols (e.g., pressure relief valves, emergency shut-off systems, etc.).
∎ Implement regular safety drills and ensure personnel are trained on emergency procedures.
∎ Conduct routine safety checks and inspections, following regulatory guidelines.3.     Preventive and Breakdown Maintenance:
∎ Organize regular maintenance schedules to prevent unplanned breakdowns.
∎ Troubleshoot and manage immediate corrective actions for any system failures or malfunctions.
∎ Ensure proper calibration, cleaning, and inspection of all boiler components (e.g., burners, pressure gauges, etc.).4.     Record Keeping:
∎ Maintain detailed records of steam production, consumption, and operational parameters (e.g., fuel usage, temperature, pressure, etc.).
∎ Ensure data is logged in compliance with legislation and for performance monitoring.5.     Energy Utilization and Recovery:
∎ Optimize energy usage by ensuring maximum efficiency of the boiler.
∎ Monitor and track energy recovery systems, ensuring effective use of recovered energy (e.g., economizers, heat exchangers).6.     Audit and Compliance:
∎ Ensure the boiler’s operation aligns with internal audits and external compliance standards.
∎ Maintain records for audit purposes, including safety checks, maintenance logs, and energy consumption data.7.     Additional Responsibilities:
∎ Execute any other tasks assigned by the session head or management, ensuring all operational requirements are met.
