Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Baking: Creating doughs and batters, making cakes, sweets, and breads, and baking a variety of pastries
∎ • Decorating: Using icings, toppings, and other items to decorate pastries and desserts Menu planning: Contributing ideas to the menu and organizing the dessert menu Ingredient
∎ • Management: Checking, ordering, and stocking ingredients, and monitoring inventory Equipment
∎ • Maintenance: Ensuring that all equipment is working properly
∎ • Safety and sanitation: Following proper food handling procedures, washing hands, keeping work surfaces clean, and storing ingredients and cooked goods at the proper temperature
∎ • Time management: Being able to measure ingredients and bake multiple items at once
∎ • Recipe development: Creating recipes, testing techniques, and making modifications to perfect recipes
∎ • Staff management: Recruiting, hiring, and training assistants and junior chefs
∎ • Displaying goods: Displaying cakes and pastries at special events
