Job Purpose:
To ensure consistent product quality, food safety compliance, and continuous product improvement through effective Quality Control systems and innovative Research & Development activities in line with regulatory standards and company objectives.
Responsibilities:
Quality Control:
· Develop, implement, and monitor QC systems, SOPs, and quality standards for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.
· Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations (BSTI, HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, Codex, etc.).
· Supervise quality inspection, testing, and documentation at all production stages.
· Approve or reject raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products based on quality parameters.
· Conduct root cause analysis and corrective & preventive actions (CAPA) for quality deviations.
· Coordinate internal and external audits; ensure timely closure of audit findings.
· Monitor hygiene, sanitation, pest control, and environmental safety in the factory.
· Maintain traceability, batch records, and product recall procedures.
Research & Development (R&D):
· Lead new product development (NPD) and product improvement initiatives.
· Conduct trials for new formulations, ingredients, packaging, and shelf-life enhancement.
· Evaluate cost optimization opportunities without compromising quality and safety.
· Prepare and validate product specifications, nutritional facts, and labeling information.
· Stay updated on market trends, consumer preferences, and food innovations.
· Coordinate with production, procurement, and marketing teams during product launches.
· Manage pilot runs and commercial-scale product transfer.
Team Management & Training:
· Lead, mentor, and evaluate QC and R&D team members.
· Conduct regular training on food safety, hygiene, quality standards, and best practices.
· Develop departmental KPIs and performance improvement plans.
Documentation & Reporting:
· Prepare quality reports, test results, deviation reports, and management review summaries.
· Maintain regulatory documentation and ensure readiness for inspections.
· Submit regular performance and compliance reports to management.
