Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business Administration, Law, Information Technology, or a related field from a UGC-approved university.
Professional certification such as CAFS, CFE, CAMS, or equivalent will be considered an added advantage.
No third division/class or equivalent CGPA is allowed at any stage of the academic career.
JAIBB/AIBB certification will be considered an added advantage.
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Fraud Risk Management, Financial Crime, Operational Risk, Investigation, or other relevant areas within the banking sector, including 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Experience in Cards Fraud, Digital Banking Fraud, Payment Fraud, Cyber-enabled Fraud, and Fraud Investigation will be highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of banking operations, digital banking, payment fraud, financial crime, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, data analytics, fraud monitoring systems, and report preparation.
Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to work independently and effectively lead teams.
The role will lead the Fraud Detection & Prevention Unit under the Fraud Risk Management (FRM) Division by establishing and enhancing the Bank’s fraud risk management framework, overseeing fraud risk assessments and investigations, strengthening fraud prevention and detection controls, and ensuring effective fraud governance, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Review and oversee investigations into internal and external fraud cases, including root cause analysis and recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
Develop, implement, and continuously enhance the Bank’s Fraud Risk Management Framework, policies, and procedures.
Effectively manage daily Cards Issuing & Acquiring Fraud, Digital and Payment Fraud, Fraud Detection & Prevention, fraud-related dispute management activities, and fraud monitoring systems.
Lead, coach, and develop the Fraud Risk Surveillance team while driving continuous improvement and automation of fraud monitoring and reporting processes.
Ensure fraud alerts are aligned with the Bank’s strategy and framework and recommend effective mitigation measures to prevent recurrence of similar incidents.
Establish and maintain governance forums, oversight mechanisms, and performance metrics for fraud risk, including regular reporting of key loss events, trends, KPIs, and control effectiveness.
Liaise with stakeholders and vendors to maintain and continuously improve the Fraud Risk Management system in line with the Bank’s fraud risk management strategy.
Establish and execute capacity plans for the team, including review of shift schedules, processing turnaround times, and departmental Activity Based Capacity Planning.
Assist/drive implementation of various projects and initiatives undertaken by the Bank.
Undertake a proactive fraud risk management approach by proposing measures to mitigate fraud risks.
Oversee fraud dashboards, management reporting, and regulatory reporting to Senior Management, the Board, Group, and regulators.
Ensure timely management of fraud loss provisions, write-offs, and recoveries.
Respond to emergency situations and handle sensitive issues arising from fraud incidents with appropriate care and in liaison with concerned units.
Coordinate and liaise with relevant counterparts to gather and share market fraud intelligence to drive current and future fraud containment strategies.
Drive fraud awareness programs and promote a strong fraud risk culture across the Bank.
Work with the Head of Fraud Risk Management Department to design and implement the Bank’s Fraud Risk strategy and infrastructure.
