Associate Manager, Credit Risk - Medium Business

Job Grade: SO-PO

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate credit proposals submitted under the SME/Medium Business segment, ensuring alignment with internal credit policies and regulatory guidelines.

  • Conduct on-site visits to client business premises to verify operations, assess business viability, and ensure robust due diligence.

  • Analyse both financial and non-financial information, including financial statements, cash flow statements, industry dynamics, and management quality.

  • Prepare comprehensive credit appraisal reports (credit memos) with clear risk identification, structuring, and mitigation strategies for approval.

  • Assess key risk factors associated with each proposal and recommend appropriate credit structures and covenants.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscape to support informed credit decisions.

  • Ensure timely turnaround (TAT) of credit decisions while maintaining high-quality assessment standards.

  • Monitor existing portfolio performance, identify early alerts, and escalate potential risks to minimize non-performing loans (NPLs).

  • Monitor sanction terms, covenants, and conditions on a periodic basis; escalate breaches where necessary.

  • Periodic review and renewal of existing credit facilities, including root cause analysis of delinquent accounts.

  • Collaborate effectively with business units, risk teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless credit processing and portfolio management.

  • Support management with additional assignments and contribute to continuous improvement of credit processes.
