At least seven years of professional experience in a technical and/or supervisory role, implementing climate adaptation, mitigation, loss and Damage.
Experience working with youths and students to increase their climate resilient capacities to combat climate related disasters.
Experience working in climate resilience, renewable energy, and climate justice and disaster risk reduction is preferred.
Skills
Fluency in English;
Strong oral and written communication skills;
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under pressure, and attention to detail working environment;
Strong management, communication, and negotiation skills;
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with teams in a multicultural environment;
Willingness to work with slum communities, youths, students, and children and travel in three working areas

Job Context
Bangladesh Resource Center for Indigenous Knowledge (BARCIK) is a non-governmental non-profitable development organization. A group of development practitioners, researchers and social workers established BARCIK in 1997. BARCIK has been working in the fields of environment, biodiversity conservation, climate Justice and food sovereignty with utmost commitment and purpose since its inception. BARCIK is looking for 1 well-qualified female candidate to be recruited for the post of Associate coordinator for its project titled ‘Poverty Reduction and Urban Resilience Program’.
Job Responsibilities:
Facilitate participatory planning, implementation and impact assessment along with other project staffs
Facilitate the community facilitators and other project staffs to perform the better result.
Regular communication, monitoring and share progress among the project staffs
Conduct skill development training of the slum communities to increase their capacities on social, cultural and livelihood issues
Demonstration of best climate resilience practices in urban informal settlers’ areas in the climate changing situation.
Collaboration with government and non-government representatives at national and local level to enhance support to the urban poor communities to ensure access of government supports and services.
Design and conduct small scale issue base study in the working areas
Need assessment, identify, and plan skills development activities for the project participants.
Provide technical support to Community facilitators and other actors to develop their technical skills;
Assist the project team in generating an evidence base for advocacy at the national and local levels to integrate the intersection of urban climate change and livable cities for all into plans, policies, and frameworks.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual report of the project
