Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least 2-3 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the development sector.
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications.
Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with VAT, tax, and government regulations in Bangladesh.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and team collaboration abilities.

Job Context
• Uttaran is a national NGO working since 1985 to promote rights, resilience, and socio-economic development of vulnerable communities. Uttaran is implementing the PROTISTHAA project, focusing on anticipatory action and timely humanitarian response through trigger-based systems.
• The Assistant Finance Officer will support financial management, compliance, and reporting to ensure efficient implementation of project activities in line with organizational and donor requirements.
• Reports to: Finance Officer
Key Responsibilities:
The Assistant Finance Officer will manage & assist financial operations to ensure smooth and compliant implementation of the Project Finance Officer and other organizational initiatives in collaboration and communication with Uttaran finance team.
Financial Roles
• Manage daily financial transactions and maintain books of accounts in compliance with organizational and donor requirements.
• Support the Finance Officer in maintaining proper financial documentation, including vouchers, ledgers, bills, and financial reports.
• Ensure financial compliance with project agreements and donor guidelines.
• Assist in maintaining and updating inventory and asset registers in line with organizational policies.
• Process bank transactions, including cheques, transfers, and documentation, ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
• Ensure VAT, tax, and other statutory compliance as per Bangladesh government regulations.
• Assist in timely deposit of VAT and tax to the government treasury.
• Follow procurement and financial procedures to ensure compliance prior to payment processing.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documents and responding to audit observations.
• Assist in preparation of financial reports for donor submission and internal monitoring.
• Coordinate with program teams to verify expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets and project activities.
Administrative Roles
• Follow organizational policies related to finance, administration, and staff management.
• Maintain movement, leave, and tour records with proper documentation and supporting vouchers.
• Preserve and manage organizational and project-related files and records systematically.
• Support overall administrative and financial coordination as required by the organization.
• Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by the organization in line with project needs.
Salary: 46,174/- BDT
