• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in SRHR, HIV prevention, maternal health, or community-based health service delivery.

• Demonstrated experience working with key populations, particularly female sex workers, will be highly preferred.

• Practical experience in GBV case identification, survivor-centered support, and referral pathway activation.

• Experience working in donor-funded projects (preferably UNFPA, Global Fund, or similar development partners) will be an added advantage.

• Training in SRHR, HIV/STI management, GBV response, or Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) will be considered an asset.

Strengthening access to integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services for brothel-based female sex workers (FSWs) in selected districts of Bangladesh.

Job Context:

Partners in Health and Development (PHD) is implementing a UNFPA-supported project aimed at strengthening access to integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services for brothel-based female sex workers (FSWs) across nine selected districts of Bangladesh—namely Rajbari, Khulna, Jashore, Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Tangail, Faridpur, Bagerhat, and Patuakhali.

The project focuses on delivering comprehensive SRHR services alongside Gender-Based Violence (GBV) response and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) through community-based service delivery platforms tailored to the needs of female sex workers.

The Medical Assistant / Midwife cum Counselor provides frontline medical, SRHR, counseling, and mental health/psychosocial support (MHPSS) services to beneficiaries at the center level. This position also supports field coordination, referral strengthening, and capacity building for peer educators and GBV Case Management Workers, ensuring high-quality service delivery and achievement of health outcomes.

Employment Status: Full-time, Contractual

Job Responsibilities:

• Deliver medical, SRHR, and counseling services to beneficiaries in accordance with national guidelines.

• Conduct screening for HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B & C, ensure confirmatory testing, and link beneficiaries to treatment at government facilities.

• Support ART enrollment and monitor treatment adherence.

• Maintain accurate medical and case records, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.

• Provide individual and group mental health and psychosocial support sessions under the guidance of the Senior Counselor.

• Support GBV Case Management Workers in identifying survivors, ensuring safety, and activating referrals for health, legal, and psychosocial services.

• Assist peer educators and GBV Case Management Workers in outreach and awareness-raising activities.

• Identify capacity gaps among field staff and provide coaching on referral pathways and beneficiary support.

• Facilitate linkages and coordination with local stakeholders and referral facilities to strengthen service delivery and advocacy for beneficiaries.

• Report program progress, challenges, and community insights to the Program and M&E Officer.

• Support the documentation of best practices, lessons learned, and service outcomes for project learning.
