Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Tourism, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in marketing, tourism promotion, or digital media
Proven experience in content creation, blogging, and digital marketing
Experience working with tourism projects or hospitality sector preferred
Creative thinking and storytelling ability
Strong digital marketing and social media skills
Excellent communication (English & Bangla)
Networking and stakeholder management
Passion for eco-tourism and sustainable development
Willingness to travel frequently to project locations
Photography/videography skills will be an added advantage
Strong understanding of Bangladesh tourism potential
ESDO was established in 1988 with the aim of supporting poor and marginalized people affected by the devastating flood and gradually moving towards achieving a broader vision of achieving sustainable, secured, and resilient livelihoods for these poor and marginalized people through improving their overall sustainable development. For the last more than three and a half decades of its development journey, ESDO has set an outstanding example of a sustainable development model for the underprivileged communities of Bangladesh. ESDO has been working in the country's primarily unserved and underserved locations, nurturing a community-focused participatory approach and people's ownership. Consequently, the ESDO's working area has already established an enabling environment. We have made notable achievements in livelihood improvement, food security and nutrition, education, women's empowerment, health, the promotion of children's rights, adolescent and youth engagement, and the rights of ethnic minorities. During this long span, we have adapted to the changing situation and provided the most time-bound effective services, especially to the poor and disadvantaged people. Considering the government's development policies, we are currently implementing a considerable number of projects and programs, including a microfinance program, through a community-focused and people-centered approach to accomplish the government's development agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN as a whole. One of the most dynamic organizations, ESDO, is expanding its development interventions across 422 upazilas under 56 districts of Bangladesh, thereby reaching over 15.73 million impoverished and vulnerable individuals.
Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) is promoting community-based eco-tourism initiatives in the northern districts of Thakurgaon, Panchagarh specially Tetulia. These initiatives aim to create sustainable livelihoods, preserve local culture, and promote environmentally responsible tourism experiences.
To strengthen branding, outreach, and visitor engagement, ESDO is seeking a creative and dynamic professional for the position of Marketing Manager – Eco Tourism Project.
Position Overview
The Marketing Manager will lead promotional strategies, digital storytelling, and stakeholder engagement to position North Bengal as a unique eco-tourism destination. The role requires innovation, strong communication skills, and passion for sustainable tourism.
ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the following position.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tourism Promotion & Outreach
Disseminate ESDO’s community-based eco-tourism initiatives to targeted audiences through both offline and online platforms
Develop and execute marketing campaigns to attract local and international tourists
2. Digital Content & Travel Blogging
Independently develop and manage engaging travel blogs, articles, and storytelling content
Highlight unique attractions, local culture, community experiences, and eco-tourism values
Optimize content for social media, SEO, and digital engagement
3. Stakeholder Engagement & Networking
Establish and maintain direct communication with tour operators, travel agencies, and tourism stakeholders
Build partnerships to increase tourist flow and market visibility
4. Campaign Design & Innovation
Design and implement innovative promotional campaigns (digital campaigns, events, influencer engagement, media outreach)
Use creative approaches to position ESDO eco-tourism as a premium and responsible tourism brand
5. Coordination & Communication
Ensure strong coordination with internal teams, local communities, and external stakeholders
Represent ESDO in tourism-related events, fairs, and networking platforms
6. Innovation & Idea Generation
Continuously generate innovative ideas and marketing approaches to promote eco-tourism
Introduce new concepts such as experience-based tourism, agro-tourism, and cultural tourism packages
