Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context

• Uttaran is a national NGO working since 1985 to promote rights, resilience, and socio-economic development of vulnerable communities. Uttaran is implementing the PROTISTHAA project, focusing on anticipatory action and timely humanitarian response through trigger-based systems. The organization invites applications for the position of Community Facilitator / Mobilizer under this project.

• The position will support community-level implementation of anticipatory action, early warning dissemination, and trigger-based preparedness activities in coordination with local government institutions and stakeholders.

• Reports to: Upazila Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Field Facilitator will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Organize and facilitate community meetings, training sessions, awareness campaigns, and simulation exercises on disaster preparedness and anticipatory action.

• Support implementation of project activities at the community, Union and Upazila level in the project areas.

• Facilitate dissemination of early warning messages and advisories to targeted communities in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

• Strengthen community-level disaster preparedness systems, including community groups, volunteers, and local committees.

Support community-level activities

• Maintain close coordination with Union Parishad, Upazila administration, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Support community-level contingency planning, risk mapping, risk assessment, and resource mapping exercises and resource mobilization.

• Assist in organizing mock drills and preparedness exercises.

• Provide support for training, meetings, and field-level data collection activities.

• Collect case studies, lessons learned, and community feedback from the field.

• Support use of monitoring tools and ensure quality data collection.

• Contribute to preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

Mobilize community people in IGA and advocacy activities

• Mobilize communities to participate in resilience-building, livelihood, and advocacy activities linked to the project.

• Support identification of vulnerable households and community needs for anticipatory action interventions.

• Promote awareness on climate risks, disaster preparedness, hygiene practices, and resilient livelihoods.

• Ensure inclusion of women, youth, elderly, and PWD (Persons with Disabilities) in all activities.

• Support documentation, compilation, and reporting of community-level information.

Other Roles and Responsibilities:

• Participate in the project direct beneficiary selection process to ensure transparency and accountability for FbF and other activities.

• Abide by the organizational policies.

• Maintain and fulfil properly movement register for field visit

• Fulfil and maintain leave form properly.

• Preparation for conducting additional responsibility for the requirement of the organization.

• Avoid conspiracy, indecent words, and negative views to higher authority and finally show the faith to the organization

Competencies

• Prior experience in conducting PRAs, FGDs, and community mobilization activities.

• Strong communication, facilitation abilities.

• Understanding of Anticipatory Action, sustainable livelihoods, risk assessment, and disaster response.

• Gender-sensitive and inclusive approach in community engagement.

• Ability to work in remote locations and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
