Community Development Centre (CODEC) is an inheritor of DANIDA Bangladesh derived from couple of project intervention explicitly DANIDA Boat Building Project and Boat Rental Scheme. CODEC has been working as a people centered development organization since 1985. CODEC is implementing different Development projects in the field of Education, Livelihood support, Environment, Legal Service, Humanitarian Field, Advocacy, Health & Nutrition etc. The aim of CODEC is to provide support and assistance to the disadvantaged coastal communities in their day-to-day struggle. Community Development Centre (CODEC) is going to implement CODEC Climate Change Adaptation Project funded by STRØMME Foundation in Chitalmari Upazila, Bagerhat District, Bangladesh. CODEC Climate Change Adaptation Project aims to aware the People of rural areas such as Bagerhat of climate-smart technology and modern technology for agricultural and aquaculture production. Most of the farmers in these areas mainly depend on traditional methods of agricultural and aquaculture production. As a result, they experience production losses each year due to climate change, and climate-induced disasters. CODEC invites application for CODEC Climate Change Adaptation Project for the following position (Assisatant Technical Officer-ATO) from the potential Bangladeshi nationals.
Key Areas of Performance/ Responsibility/Accountability:
Tasks:
a. Assistant Technical Officer will work under the supervision of PM. ATO will ensure the beneficiary selection, ensure overall technical support, ensure the awareness buildup of the beneficiaries and regularly door to door visit of the households and sharing the project relevant technical knowledge. He should have the knowledge on Climate Smart Agricultural Technology, Smart Water Management Systems and Disaster Risk Reduction.
b. Will be responsible for all activities in the field leve.
c. Select the interested and capable beneficiaries from the selected villages/clusters of the Unions to implement project activities.
d. Form and mobilize groups of direct beneficiaries.
e. Establish demonstration in each group/cluster to show the results of semi-intensive project activities.
f. Make training Calendar and conduct regular training sessions with the beneficiaries.
g. Provide technical assistance to the beneficiaries.
h. Visit the individual direct beneficiary on regular basis to provide guidance, motivations and technical support.
i. Facilitate refresher and coaching sessions as per schedule of project.
j. Update target group/cluster on project activities.
k. Maintain close liaison with Union Parishad, local schools, local elite and private sector actors for establishing effective coordination and implementation towards achieving project goal.
l. Coordinate to ensure proper monitoring, documenting and regular reporting to CODEC.
m. Need to frequent field visit and report to the Project Manager about the needs or challenges with possible solution.
n. He will responsible for any other assignment given by the project management
Assistant Technical Officer will work under the supervision of Project Manager (PM) and will ensure overall technical support including relevant life skill training for the smooth operations of project activities.
Provide technical leadership in the project working areas to achieve program goal within targeted period as per donor`s and organization`s guidelines.
Assist Field Organizers so that they understand the concept of the Project very well. Assist POs in selecting beneficiaries, Community Based Farmer Lead Group or Lead Farmer and organizing training. He/she has to maintain close communication with respective GoB officials and other relevant officials.
To play the lead role in developing Monthly Activity Plan, detailed implementation Plan (DIP) including training calendar. Supervise the project implementation progress and budget tracking as per DIP and support to the DIP based technical issues faced in the field. Conduct Monthly Coordination Meeting and review progress with further action plan.
Ensure gender equity with critical reflection and dialogue on gender norms and masculinities to promote increasing gender equity. Provide technical guidance to the FOs to address their challenges in implementing activities.
Provide hands on training, supportive supervision, career counseling for need base of FOs.
Ensure regularly monitoring of the activities of the field teams for quality, efficiency and appropriate response to the identified needs and report directly.
Collect and document case study, lessons learnt as per project needs.
Need to frequent field visit and report to the Project Manager about the needs or challenges with possible solution.
S/he should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)`s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy.
Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse - PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program`s goals on safeguarding implementation.
Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
