Job Context:
∎ The assistant Technical Design Manager has a dual reporting line. Solid line to Regional Technical Design Manager (QM strategy) and dotted line to Country Director (regional operation).
∎ The role will lead the Regional Technical Design Team (apparel) and be responsible for the execution of the Quality strategy across all VF Brands through partnership with various stake holders including Sourcing and Vendors and all in accordance with the VF guiding principles.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop and manage a capable and agile team.
∎ Coach, mentor and train team members as required.
∎ IDP management of self and team.
∎ Manage team performance through regular 1:1 communication and feedback session.
∎ Build and optimize relationship with all stake holders internal and external.
∎ Evaluate workload vs staffing to ensure maximum team performance at all times.
∎ Manage the day to day operation and needs of the team (example: leave, travel, budget, activities).
∎ Creates and manages SOP's relevant to the function.
∎ Ensures that within the team there is a high degree of understanding of the vendor base capabilities and performance.
∎ Manage and communicate vendors performance.
∎ Conduct seasonal" lessons learnt" with cross functional groups to ensure continual review and improvement of process.
∎ Ensure standards being set for production are in line with brands requirements.
∎ Travel to factories and work with them to execute sampling in line with tech packs requirements. Coach, train and calibrate as required.
∎ Owns follow up of product issues relating to technical design.
∎ Encourages partnership between Technical Design and vendors to proactively offers options and solutions to make design intent.
∎ Partners with QA/QE to develop best practices for product execution and style risk mitigation.
∎ Partners with QA/QE to conduct risk assessment during handover meeting.
∎ Effectively communicates with cross functional team to ensure deliverables are met.
∎ Partners on projects as required.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Strong technical knowledge of performance and sport lifestyle products and manufacturing
∎ Comprehensive knowledge of apparel fit standards and industry best practices
∎ In-Depth knowledge of pattern and sewing construction
∎ Extreme attention to detail and accuracy
∎ Strong organizational skills
∎ Ability to communicate effectively (English and local language) verbal, written and visual.
∎ Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail and resourcefulness
∎ Self-directed with ability to manage workload priorities and relate to overall needs of the team
∎ Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
∎ Responsible, accountable and leads by example
∎ Team player
