Experience:
Master in Social Science / Development Studies and in any relevant discipline with 2 years relevant experience also may apply.
Fair knowledge on Rohingya Refugee context including WaSH intervention in emergency/humanitarian situation.
Hard working, able to work under pressure in humanitarian response context, with a positive and can-do attitude.
Work experience in Cox's Bazar is preferable.
Fluency in English and Bangla.
knowledge of Rohingya/Chittagonian dialect is an asset.
The proposed position of Assistant Project Officer - WASH is critical to fulfilling the operational and to expedite the implementation of the newly awarded DFAT-IRC -supported WASH project, ensuring timely implementation, accountability, and achievement of the project’s intended outcomes.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting the implementation, operation, maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation of WASH infrastructure and services in assigned camps in accordance with approved designs, specifications, work plans, and project objectives.
Conduct regular field visits to monitor WASH facilities and identify repair, maintenance, operational, and service delivery issues requiring attention.
Provide day-to-day supervision and technical guidance to masons, skilled laborers, operators, desludging teams, waste collectors, volunteers, and contractors engaged in project activities.
Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and repair of water supply systems, including water networks, pipelines, tap stands, reservoir tanks, pumps, generators, leakage repairs, and associated facilities.
Monitor functionality of hand pump tube wells and support repair and maintenance activities to ensure continuous service delivery.
Assist in conducting water quality monitoring and testing activities, maintain records of results, and promptly report any water quality concerns to the Project Officer.
Supervise desludging activities and monitor repair and maintenance works of WASH Blocks, community infrastructures, latrines, bathing facilities, and other sanitation facilities.
Coordinate with community representatives, WASH Committees, volunteers, and beneficiaries to facilitate smooth implementation of project activities.
