Responsibilities & Context:
  • Create new products from the concept stage to production, including developing and testing prototypes. 
  • Analyze and improve existing products to enhance their quality. 
  • Create and implement testing processes, conduct quality checks at various stages of production, and analyse data to discover potential problems or opportunities for improvement. 
  • Planning and implementation of scientific projects.
  • Research, design and evaluate materials, processes and products.
  • Be responsible for managing product sourcing and Develop concepts, products and solutions by working with the company business units.
  • Introduce new concepts, materials, designs and improve product quality and performance, in response to changing consumer demands and preferences, and contribute to the industry’s overall growth 
  • Control of Technical Specification Documents and Information. Develop reports and documentation in response to technical information requests
  • Translate and issuing product drawing, Bill of Material, Assembly Instruction, Packing Instruction to related departments.
  • Inform related departments accordingly, when there is any update or amendment of technical documents.
  • Withdrawn outdated documents before issuing updated documents.
  • New Product Sample Preparation and Sample Confirmation
  • Verify material suitability and prepare Bill of Material as per product requirements.
  • Test and verify the product sample as per product requirements.Liaise with sales for sample requirement change when required.
  • Material Development and Verification
  • Verify product color label and other required labels.Verify carton standard, die cut dimension, printing, fitting, and carton artwork approval.Packing materials verification.
  • Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings of office furniture using design software.Work with the prototyping team to build and test new designs.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and production, to ensure successful product launches.
  • Ensure all designs meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of designs, prototypes, and project progress.
  • Operating pilot scale equipment
  • Design and conduct experiments and document results
  • Working with analytical laboratory equipment and analyzing results
  • Travel to customers locations and to vendors for meetings and trials
  • Investigate product development factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements, cost-defining recommendations, and change proposals
  • Adopts lean product development and standard engineering development and techniques
