Responsibilities & Context:
  • Manage day-to-day operations of all stores, warehouses and inventory areas. Ensure smooth, efficient and cost-effective store operations.

  • Must have practical exposure of handling raw cotton of American, European and Australian origin as per EFS management system including safe and proper storage based on category, lot and FIFO.

  • Must have clear applicable expertise on cotton wastage of different categories, their reuse, storage and sale.

  • Maintain optimum inventory levels based on production and operational requirements.

  • Monitor stock levels, slow-moving, non-moving, obsolete and excess materials. Ensure proper inventory classification, coding, identification and storage.

  • Minimize inventory losses, shortages, damages and wastage.

  • Ensure proper receiving of raw materials, spare parts, packaging materials and other goods. Verify quantities against purchase orders, delivery challans and invoices.

  • Ensure materials are issued only against authorized requisitions as well as maintain proper records of material issues and returns.

  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of receiving, issuing, transfer, return as well as adjustment transactions in the ERP/system.

  • Maintain proper stock registers, bin cards other records and traceability of all inventory transactions.

  • Reconcile physical stock with ERP system balances and conduct regular physical stock verification. Implement FIFO/LIFO where applicable.

  • Ensure proper storage, preservation, labeling, stockings and identification of materials.

  • Ensure proper segregation of hazardous, chemical, damaged, rejected and obsolete materials.

  • Provide and monitor accurate stock information for purchase planning, pending purchase orders, critical materials to avoid stock-outs.

  • Reduce material losses, damages and wastage. Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards.

  • Identify opportunities for improving store efficiency and reducing operating costs.

  • Ensure readiness for internal, external, ISO, customer, social compliance and financial audits maintain required records and evidence.

  • Prepare and review periodic inventory and store performance reports, report stock shortages, excesses, obsolete items, discrepancies and critical materials to management.

  • Develop and improve store systems, SOPs, controls, workflows. Improve storage utilization, material flow, productivity and service levels.
