∎ Purpose: The Area Manager will work under the USAID Bijoyee Activity project of BYLC which is the strategic partner of CARE Bangladesh including some other partner organization. The project focused on a comprehensive Initiative focused on empowering and engaging young people in Bangladesh. It aims to address various aspects of youth development, including education, skill building, employment, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and social inclusion as stated in project documents.
∎ The Area Manager will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and coordination of the project and work collaborative approach with all engaged stakeholders. S/He will ensure its successful execution and timely completion of work under the guidance of BYLC and CARE Bangladesh. This position will be based in the any one Spokes (sub hub office) Gazipur/ Manikgonj under North Dhaka Hub of USAID Bijoyee Activity, BYLC.
∎ Duration: 3 years with possibility of extension for further period as per project requirement.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Desired candidate profile:-
∎ Essential Requirements: The Area Manager will lead any one Spokes (sub hub office) Gazipur/ Manikgonj under North Dhaka Hub of USAID Bijoyee Activity team for achieving having:
∎ 1) Promote equitable access to economic opportunities,
∎ 2) Strengthen youth leadership through targeted support of local youth-led and youth-serving organizations to promote youth participation as decision makers and key contributors to individual, household, community, and national well-being and
∎ 3) Strengthen youth systems, in partnership with youth, to provide more coordinated and effective services, practices, and policies that embody the principles of BYLC.
∎ Core responsibilities: Strategic: (5%)
∎ BYLC's Strategies and project goals, policies, plans, and guidelines are properly maintained
∎ Support to enhance on to establish strategies for organizational and institutional development, growth, and sustainability
∎ Initiatives to enhance BYLC's image and leadership role nationally and globally
∎ Institutional and program regulatory approvals and adherence of country laws and regulations
∎ Promote and practice BYLC Values (Integrity, Respect Towards Others, Empathy, Excellence in everything We Do, Continuous Development and Practice Adapting Leadership) at all times
∎ Ensure Safeguard and protection of life and dignity of all associated personnel of BYLC as well as the assets and property.
∎ Demonstrate Zero Tolerance towards corruption, and any type of harassment, especially sexual harassment for ensuring positive, productive and decent work environment. Operational: (65%)
∎ Supervise, monitor, and evaluate day-to-day activities of field implementation as per directive of Hub
∎ Coordinator.
∎ Responsible for planning and organizing all relevant training, events, and support field team for quality implementation.
∎ S/he will prepare reports and preserve those for future record and audit requirements.
∎ Represent the project at various forums, conferences, and meetings.
∎ Move to regularly, support mobilizers, trainers, and others in organizing events, and ensure written reports to Hub Coordinator record for evidential recommendations.
∎ Pay regular field visit and monitoring of training including quality and field implementation.
∎ Always maintain the project activity and beneficiaries' management tracker.
∎ Communicate with different institutions for organizing skill training and ensure quality of the training.
∎ People Management and Relationship Building: (30%)
∎ Team management/ Communication/Collaboration and Networking/ Monitoring and Evaluation/ Team Building.
∎ Ensure a strong network with other NGOs, government agencies, private sectors and relevant stakeholders to advocate for promotional event and engagement with private sector agencies
∎ Maintain functional relationships to Manager Skills and Employment and with local stakeholders and beneficiaries and other relevant stakeholders for smooth operation of the project.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience: At least 5 year(s) similar level of experiences
∎ Experience of project field management and administration role in NGO/ development organization
∎ Experience on Financial and Administrative management for USAID Funded project is mandatory
∎ Experiences of youth development sector including liaison with GOB and NGOs.
∎ Required technical skills: Experience in training planning, field implementation and coordination.
∎ Effective coordination and collaboration with stakeholder, skill training institutions and private sector.
∎ Interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.
∎ Excellent writing and speaking skills in both Bangla and English.
∎ Oral and written language skills in Bengali and English.
∎ Computer MS operation and report writing
∎ Required soft skills: Self-motivated and self-driven individuals and ability to promote private sector engagement.
∎ Good facilitation skills and documentation experiences.
∎ Willingness to work in flexible hours is a critical requirement for this role.
∎ Should be dedicated to daily task completion.
