Education:
    • Master of Commerce (MCom) in Accounting & Information System
  • Professional certification courses; e.g. CACC shall be given preference.

  • Course completed in Chartered Accountancy from a reputed CA firm

  • Qualified/partly qualified in chartered accountancy will get added advantages

  • Knowledge and experience on Financial and Accounting management for USAID Funded is mandatory.

Purpose: 

The Manager- Finance and Accounts position will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Manager, Finance & Accounts for ensuring the execution and coordination of the Finance and Accounts and Procurement functions in different projects and programme areas of BYLC. This position will be based in the Head Office, Dhaka.

Major responsibilities (detailed job description will be available for short listed candidates)

  • Prepare and also ensure the prepare of proper financial paperwork and procedures and provide required recommendations and make necessary changes
  • Ensure the deduction of VAT and AIT and deposit them into the government treasury accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and keep up to date on all the fillings and approvals with all regulatory bodies in Bangladesh (such as NBR, RJSC, NGOAB, DC Office, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with project policies and procedures.Maintain accurate project records and ensure that all documentation is up-to-date andaccessible.
  • Assist to prepare donor reports, fund requests, and financial statement
  • Assist to prepare a budget and ensure all expenses are within the assigned project budget and verify the completeness of all required supporting documentation for all payments vouchers.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all the payments through CorpNet.
  • Ensuring that all accounting processes align with GAAP, IFRS, IAS, ISA and other current prevailing practices.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete financial records including reconciliations.
  • Check all bills and vouchers in light of the audit aspect and also determining whether they comply with BYLC’s internal policies and to preserve such vouchers properly.
  • To ensure software posting (Tally) accurately and timely
  • To assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Providing assistance in the preparation of payroll and uploading payroll sheets on CorpNet for signing.
  • Maintaining the assets register
  • Coordinating with internal and external auditors and assisting them by providing necessary documents.
  • Managing the petty cash.
  • Supervise and guide supply chain team lead in procurement related activities such as implementing best practice procurement strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
