Job Responsibilities:
∎ Select the interested and capable shrimp and prawn farmers from the selected villages/clusters of the Unions to implement project activities.
∎ Form and mobilize groups of direct beneficiary farmers
∎ Establish demonstration farm in each group/cluster to show the results of semi-intensive shrimp and prawn farming technologies
∎ Work closely and assist AEO in organizing and facilitating farmer hands on training on improved & appropriate shrimp/prawn farming technologies at field level;
∎ Provide technical assistance to the farmers for necessary renovation/reconstruction of gher to make suitable depth and condition for adoption of improved farming technologies and bio security;
∎ Visit the individual direct beneficiary farmers on regular basis to provide guidance, motivations and technical support on shrimp and
∎ Organize linkage events/FFD at union/group level for linking farmers with quality PLs/Juveniles and other inputs and to disseminate the technologies of semi intensive shrimp and prawn farming;
∎ Facilitate refresher and coaching sessions as per schedule of project;
∎ Update farmer group/cluster on shrimp/prawn farming technologies and market promotion;
∎ Identify and contact with local supply chain actors especially hatcheries, nurseries, depots, input dealers;
∎ Maintain close coordination with AEO and ADO for technical support to implement the project activities;
∎ Maintain close coordination with CODEC microfinance staffs to facilitate timely disbursement and realization of appropriate microfinance for SAFETI direct beneficiary farmers under CODEC responsibility;
∎ Maintain close liaison with Union Parishad, local elite and private sector actors (hatcheries, nurseries, depot holders, input dealers etc.) for establishing effective coordination and implementation towards achieving SAFETI goal.
∎ Assist direct beneficiary households to maintain and update farm record book on regular basis;
∎ Coordinate to ensure proper monitoring, documenting and regular reporting to Winrock and CODEC at upazilalevel management
∎ Any other assignment given by the management
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 35 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Broader understanding about farmer group formation, group mobilization and understanding about shrimp and prawn farming. Coordination and facilitation skills
∎ Willing to work and stay at remote areas in the Union and ride to bicycle for field movement.
∎ At least 3-5 years' field experience with aquaculture development project especially in the field of shrimp and prawn farming.
Salary: Tk. 22000 (Monthly)
