About the Project

You will be working exclusively on FroHub, an online marketplace dedicated to afro hair services. The platform aims to serve a global community with a seamless, culturally relevant, and high-quality digital experience.

This is not a side project. You will be the technical backbone of FroHub’s growth, helping shape and evolve the product from both a development and AI-driven perspective.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on AI-focused developer to build, maintain, and scale FroHub’s platform.

You will combine strong full stack engineering skills with modern AI-assisted development workflows to move fast, solve problems efficiently, and continuously improve the product.

This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable owning a product end-to-end and using AI as a force multiplier in their work.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain core features of the FroHub marketplace

• Design and develop scalable web applications (frontend and backend)

• Use AI coding tools to accelerate development and improve code quality

• Integrate AI-driven features where relevant (search, recommendations, automation, etc.)

• Manage cloud infrastructure and deployments

• Debug, optimise, and continuously improve performance and reliability

• Work closely with product stakeholders to shape features and priorities

• Take full ownership of the technical direction of the FroHub platform

Core Requirements

• Strong experience in full stack web development

• Proficiency with modern frameworks (e.g. React, Next.js, Node.js or similar)

• Solid understanding of APIs, databases, and system design

• Experience building and scaling production applications
  

AI & Modern Development Workflow

• Proficiency using AI coding tools (e.g. Codex, Claude Code, or similar)

• Ability to integrate AI APIs (e.g. OpenAI or similar) into applications

• Comfortable working in an AI-augmented development environment

• Strong problem-solving mindset using AI as a tool, not a crutch

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

• Familiarity with deployment pipelines, hosting, and monitoring

• Understanding of scalable architecture and performance optimisation

Nice to Have

• Experience with marketplaces or e-commerce platforms

• Familiarity with search and recommendation systems

• Experience working on culturally focused or community-driven products

• Startup or early-stage product experience
