Educational Requirements:
∎ Master's/Bachelor's in Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Seed Science/ Horticulture/ Agronomy/ Plant Pathology from reputed Agricultural University.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 5 year(s)
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Breeding
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Directs and coordinates worker activities, such as planting, irrigation, fertilizer/pesticide application, harvesting, grading, payroll, and recordkeeping.
∎ Should have knowledge of right fertilizers and pesticides for the crops.
∎ Contracts with farmers for management of crop production.
∎ Overseeing the plantation of the crops during plantation season.
∎ Plan with technicians for the irrigation required for agriculture.
∎ Plans and directs development and production of hybrid plant varieties with high yield or disease and insect resistant characteristics.
∎ Hiring the right farm hands.
∎ Overseeing the harvesting of the crops during harvesting season.
∎ Packaging the crops for sale.
∎ Making an inventory of the crops and accounting for their sales.
∎ Helping the owner with sales of the crop.
∎ Overseeing the daily harvesting and farming activities.
∎ Manage all Buying activities (i.e. seeds, fertilizers & utilities for plantation).
∎ Knowing the soil conditions and planning accordingly.
∎ Knowing the market conditions and staying up to date on it.
∎ Innovating new products and manufacturing methods.
∎ Promote the business and increase the sales of the crop or any other agricultural product made by the farm.
∎ Monitoring crop conditions, weather patterns, and other factors that could impact crop yields performance.
∎ Finding out the ways to reduce the production cost.
∎ Working with different Governmental organizations like BRRI, BARI, BADC, BINA etc.
∎ Ensuring the government and environmental regulations.
∎ Regularly coordinate with higher management.
∎ Maintaining all documents and updating all the records in the farming database.
∎ Regulate research on climate-smart agriculture and ensure waste management as well as environment & pollution control.
∎ Perform any other duties assigned by the Board of Directors.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 28 to 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Should be qualified Agriculturist.
∎ Knowledge of Potato Farming will get advantage.
∎ Knowledge of Accounting and Finance will get advantage.
∎ Planning and Time Management.
∎ Critical Thinking and Analysis.
∎ Technology Proficient.
∎ Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
