• Strong technical knowledge of uPVC, cPVC, and PE pipe extrusion processes, including line setup, trial runs, and commercial production stabilization.

• Proven experience in production planning and execution during plant commissioning and capacity ramp-up phases to meet demand targets efficiently.

• Ability to ensure consistent product quality by implementing process parameters, SOPs, and quality control standards across all production lines.

• Expertise in machine and manpower utilization optimization to maximize productivity and minimize downtime in a startup manufacturing environment.

• Sound capability in rejection analysis, wastage control, and production cost optimization through data-driven monitoring and corrective actions.

• Hands-on skill in coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure high equipment availability and operational reliability.

• Strong leadership skills to build, guide, and develop production teams, including Shift ICs, Line ICs, and Operators, with clear performance accountability.

• In-depth understanding of industrial safety, compliance, and shop-floor discipline, including implementation of safe work practices and 5S.

• Ability to prepare, analyze, and present production, reconciliation, KPI, and overhead cost reports for management review and decision-making.

• Effective communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills to manage operational challenges and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Context:

Fresh Polymer and Paints Limited (FPPL), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), is an upcoming polymer manufacturing industry in Bangladesh, being developed with modern pipe extrusion technologies to produce uPVC, cPVC, and PE Pipes for infrastructure, housing, and industrial applications. The project is designed to support the growing domestic demand for quality piping solutions and to establish a strong manufacturing platform capable of future expansion. We are inviting applications from experienced and competent professionals for the position of Production Head (Pipes), who will play a key leadership role during the plant setup, stabilization, and commercial production phases. The incumbent will be responsible for production planning, line readiness, manpower deployment, process standardization, and quality-controlled manufacturing operations, ensuring that production systems are established in line with MGI’s operational, safety, and compliance standards.

Responsibility:

1. Production Planning & Execution:

• Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly pipe production schedules by analyzing demand forecasts and machine capacity to ensure timely fulfillment of market and sales requirements.

• Initiate daily production activities across all lines through coordination with Shift ICs and Line ICs to maintain uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

• Review and adjust production plans based on machine availability, manpower strength, and raw material status to minimize downtime and production loss.

2. Machine & Manpower Utilization:

• Optimize machine utilization by monitoring line-wise productivity and cycle time to maximize output and reduce idle capacity.

• Ensure effective deployment of operators and supervisors by preparing shift-wise and weekly manpower schedules to achieve balanced workload and operational efficiency.

• Analyze labor productivity and performance data to identify gaps and implement corrective actions for improved efficiency.

3. Quality Assurance & Process Control:

• Ensure pipe quality parameters (OD, thickness, weight, length, printing, and appearance) are maintained by enforcing standard quality checks at least twice per shift.

• Coordinate with Quality Control teams to investigate defects, rejections, and customer complaints to prevent recurrence and protect brand credibility.

• Maintain all production and quality documentation systematically to support traceability, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

4. Cost Control, Rejection & Waste Reduction:

• Monitor production rejection, wastage, and reprocessing by analyzing daily production reports to control manufacturing costs.

• Implement corrective and preventive actions on high-rejection lines through root cause analysis to improve yield and material efficiency.

• Prepare overhead cost reports and support budget control initiatives to ensure production operates within approved cost targets.

5. Coordination & Cross-Functional Liaison:

• Liaise regularly with Shift ICs, Line ICs, Quality Control, Mixture Unit, Filter & Fabricated Fittings, FG Store, and Plant Head to ensure smooth production flow.

• Coordinate with FG Store and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate shipment of finished goods to sales depots nationwide.

• Participate in production meetings and provide operational updates to management to support informed decision-making.

6. Maintenance & Asset Reliability:

• Ensure preventive maintenance of machines and utilities is executed as per the preventive maintenance calendar to minimize breakdowns.

• Coordinate with maintenance teams for timely corrective maintenance to restore production capability with minimal disruption.

• Monitor equipment performance trends and recommend improvements or replacements to enhance long-term operational reliability.

7. Safety, Compliance & Shop-Floor Discipline:

• Ensure strict compliance with safety, security, and statutory requirements on the production floor to protect people, assets, and the organization.

• Enforce housekeeping, SOP compliance, and safe work practices through regular monitoring and corrective action.

• Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among all production personnel.

8. Reporting, Documentation & Communication:

• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production and reconciliation reports (FG, Central Store, Recycle Plant, Filter Fittings) to plant leadership.

• Manage official correspondence, emails, and inter-departmental communications to ensure operational clarity and traceability.

• Monitor attendance, leave, late, and absence reports to maintain workforce discipline and payroll accuracy.

9. People Management & Performance Development:

• Supervise, guide, and evaluate the performance of Shift ICs, Line ICs, and Operators to build a competent and accountable production team.

• Prepare KPIs for production performance and review achievement against targets to drive continuous improvement.

• Support training, coaching, and skill development initiatives to enhance workforce capability and succession readiness.

10. Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement:

• Prepare annual production KPIs, automation, expansion, savings, and budget plans aligned with business growth objectives.

• Review previous year’s performance data to justify KPI outcomes and identify improvement opportunities.

• Support automation and process improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality consistency, and cost efficiency.
