Responsibilities & Context:
∎ 1. Design, deploy, configure, and maintain VMware virtualization infrastructure, including vSphere, vCenter, ESXi hosts, to support business-critical applications and services.
∎ 2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess infrastructure needs, and develop virtualization solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements.
∎ 3. Plan and execute virtualization projects, including server virtualization, desktop virtualization (VDI), and cloud migration initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation and minimal disruption to operations.
∎ 4. Perform capacity planning, resource optimization, and performance tuning to maximize the efficiency and scalability of VMware virtualized environments, while minimizing costs and ensuring high availability.
∎ 5. Monitor virtual infrastructure health, performance metrics, and system alerts using VMware vRealize Operations Manager (vROps) or similar tools, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain optimal performance and uptime.
∎ 6. Implement disaster recovery (DR) solutions using VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) or similar technologies, ensuring data protection, failover readiness, and rapid recovery in the event of system outages or disasters.
∎ 7. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve issues related to VMware virtualization platforms, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and configuration errors.
∎ 8. Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and technical support teams to troubleshoot complex issues, escalate critical issues as needed, and implement recommended solutions or workarounds.
∎ 9. Participate in change management processes, including maintenance windows, patching, and upgrades, to ensure the stability, security, and compliance of VMware virtualized environments.
