Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Maintain accurate financial and non-financial records in an organized manner to facilitate easy reporting and auditing processes.
∎ Prepare financial statements, reports, and other necessary documentation as per donor, government, and organizational requirements.
∎ Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and policies set by the Bangladesh Government, donors, and the organization.
∎ Provide logistical support to the project team, ensuring timely availability of necessary resources and materials.
∎ Manage day-to-day administrative tasks to maintain a clean, organized, and professional office environment.
∎ Guide and supervise support staff in performing their tasks efficiently.
∎ Assist in preparing periodic project reports for donors, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
∎ Support the team in smooth project implementation and coordinate with team members for effective task execution.
∎ Foster and maintain strong relationships with local government authorities, community leaders, and project partners.
∎ Ensure adherence to organizational policies, including financial transparency and accountability.
∎ Archive records of project outcomes as measured by community programs.
∎ Maintain personnel files for staff, including records of personal information, leave, and correspondence, and provide them to management upon request.
∎ Prepare necessary documents for project operations.
∎ Attend regular and ad-hoc meetings as required by the organization.
∎ Bangladesh Youth Employment Consortium (BYEC) aims to empower unemployed youth, especially women, in Nilphamari Sadar Upazila, Bangladesh, by providing specialized training in handicrafts, including weaving, sewing, hand stitching, and hand loom techniques. Implemented by the Father Charles J. Young Foundation (FCJYF) in partnership with Classical Handmade Product (CHP) and in future with more industries the project is designed to enhance local employment opportunities and contribute to economic growth. The program will run from March 2025 to December 2025 (10 months). The project’s duration can be extended based on donor funding and its performance.
∎ The Accounts and Administrative Officer will play a critical role in supporting the smooth implementation of the Bangladesh Youth Empowerment Project. This role involves managing financial and administrative tasks, maintaining accurate financial and non-financial records, ensuring compliance with organizational and donor guidelines, and facilitating day-to-day operations of the project office. The position requires collaboration with the Senior Trainer and project team to achieve the project's goals effectively while building and maintaining strong relationships with local government and stakeholders.
∎ The Admin Officer will provide essential administrative support for both the project’s training functions and community-based activities. This role involves maintaining records, ensuring a conducive office and training environment, and supporting the Senior Trainer in administrative matters.
