Experience:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Geography/ GIS/ Environmental Science/ Urban and Regional Planning or any relevant discipline from a recognized university/ institution.
Additional Job Requirements:
Strong command over ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, QGIS, and related spatial analysis tools.
Familiarity with spatial data processing, raster analysis, and suitability modelling techniques.
Working knowledge of Excel, SPSS, or Python for data integration and visualization is an advantage.
Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
Ability to prepare maps, reports, and dashboards for decision-making.

Experience Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience in GIS-based research, spatial analysis, or suitability assessment. Experience in development or financial sector GIS work will be given preference.

Job Purpose: Support the Branch Location Suitability Assessment initiative of BRAC Microfinance by conducting spatial analysis, suitability modeling, and geospatial data processing using ArcGIS and other relevant tools. The role will contribute to identifying optimal branch locations and improving service accessibility across the country.
Job Description:
Assist in the preparation and execution of spatial data analysis for BRAC Microfinance branches.
Conduct suitability assessments using ArcGIS tools, including raster and vector-based modeling, reclassification, and weighted overlay analysis.
Compile, clean, and manage geospatial datasets (e.g., roads, population, service areas, branch points).
Support map generation, visualization, and reporting for presentations to management and stakeholders.
Work closely with the research team to ensure analytical alignment with strategic and programmatic goals.
Maintain proper documentation of GIS methodologies, data sources, and analytical outputs.
Perform any other research-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Safeguarding responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
