Educational Requirements:

∎ WEDC1 or WatSan in Emergencies Training within MSF is strongly recommended

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support the Operations & Maintenance Manager with the final selection and implementation of watsan infrastructures including Water Networks, Boreholes, Tube wells and hand pumps when needed. Coordinate with other actors at the camp level to identify opportunities and gaps.
∎ Support the O & M manager maintaining ours and others’ Water Networks, supporting Balukhali SOPD and Balukhali UMS, Kutupalong and other actors as well, ensuring availability and quality of supplies. Coordinate with other actors at the camp level to identify opportunities and gaps.
∎ Support the FSM Manager with the Operations and maintenance of the new Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP2) in partnership with IHE Delft, UNHCR and Oxfam / BRAC.
∎ Support the FSM Manager operational research ongoing at the FSTP1
∎ Strengthen the bond with the Medical Team and actively support Balukhali SOPD and Balukhali UMS, Kutupalong Hospital in meeting MSF Minimum Requirements,
∎ Coach the Watsan team in meeting standards and develop key indicators to easily monitor performance.
∎ Work in close collaboration with the HP Team to ensure WatSan aspects are integrated in their HP strategy in order to maximize the general targeted outcome
∎ Act as focal point for the Watsan component of outbreak/emergency response activities in collaboration with project level MTLs and Epi.
∎ Focal point for rehabilitation and management of standby cholera/covid treatment center.
∎ Capacity building of the staff so they can more easily support each other, back each other up, promote Team building.
∎ Support the WatsanCo with developing the strategy at the Project level
∎ Regularly report to PC and WatsanCo on achievements and challenges
∎ WatSan TL collaborates closely with the Projects MTL’s & PC’s (Balukhali and Kutupalong) in developing strategic approaches which will be shared / adjusted in collaboration with the WatSanCo & MedCo
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 18 to 59 years
∎ Essential, at least 2 years in WatSan related professional experience, preferably within MSF
∎ Desirable: experience in or familiar with implementing and promoting the use of two or more of the following activities (water supply, excreta disposal, waste and waste water management, vector control, and dead bodies management) in two or more different contexts (conflicts, natural disasters, refugee/IDP camps, etc.)
∎ Desirable: public health background or experience
∎ Experience with INGO’s or other relevant experience, especially regarding project management including negotiation skills.
Salary:
∎ Tk. 150000 - 180000 (Monthly)
∎ 12 months contract. Salary according to level 11 of the internal MSF salary grid, (BDT 1, 50,000 – 1, 80,000 Gross) at step ‘0-10’. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical reimbursement for employee and direct dependents.
