The Project Officer is responsible for the effective planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the RISE: Responding to climate challenges in Satkhira through Inclusive WASH, Sustainable Livelihoods, and Empowerment project under Climate Bridge Fund (CBF) of BRAC in Satkhira.
CBF Project Implementation
Lead the implementation of project activities in accordance with approved work plans, budgets, donor requirements, and Tdh policies.
Coordinate climate-resilient WASH interventions, including safe water systems, sanitation, drainage, rainwater harvesting, solid waste management, and environmental restoration.
Support Cash-for-Work (CfW), hygiene promotion, MHM, climate awareness, disaster preparedness, and distribution of project materials.
Facilitate the process of strengthening community led WASH Committees, CBOs, adolescent, youth and women's groups to promote community ownership and sustainability.
Ensure all activities comply with technical standards, environmental and social safeguards, safeguarding principles, gender equality, disability inclusion, AAP, and climate resilience principles.
Monitoring and Supervision
Supervise project staff, volunteers, contractors, and community groups to ensure timely and quality implementation.
Support the partner organization to establish a Complaint, Feedback, and Response Mechanism (CFRM) to ensure accountability to the project and non-project participants and stakeholders
Document the project’s progress through photo documentation and ensure archiving of photos using the data protection protocol
Contribute to donor and internal reporting: Writing of the narrative monthly, quarterly, intermediate, and final reports, according to the templates and requirements
Conduct regular field monitoring, monitor construction quality, and ensure compliance with approved designs, BoQs, and technical standards.
Collect, verify, analyse, and maintain project data using approved monitoring systems.
Track project progress against work plans, indicators, and donor requirements, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Technical Support
Provide technical support for climate-resilient WASH infrastructure and environmental improvement activities.
Review technical designs, BoQs, cost estimates, and contractor work plans to ensure quality and compliance.
Support operation and maintenance of WASH facilities and ensure climate-resilient, environmentally sustainable, and inclusive infrastructure.
Develop technical guidelines, IEC materials, and training modules, and ensure quality assurance throughout implementation.
Support the contextualization of Sports for Climate Action (S4CA) module and other tools and guidelines to ensure alignment with the local context
Coordinate and organize training sessions, workshops, and learning events in collaboration with the PM and partner NGOs
Planning and Reporting
Prepare implementation plans, procurement plans, activity schedules, and monthly work plans.
Maintain accurate project records, technical documentation, and beneficiary databases.
Prepare quality weekly, monthly, quarterly, and donor reports.
Support assessments, evaluations, donor visits, and document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
Coordination and Networking
Coordinate with government departments, local authorities, development partners, NGOs, UN agencies, private sector actors, and community stakeholders.
Represent Tdh in coordination meetings and technical working groups at the district level.
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure effective implementation.
Maintain positive partnerships coordination and collaboration to strengthen project quality and sustainability.
Training and Capacity Building
Assess capacity-building needs and organize training, coaching, and awareness programmes for project staff and community stakeholders.
Strengthen the capacity of community led WASH Committees, CBOs, adolescent, youth and women's groups to ensure sustainable management of project interventions.
Promote knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous learning within the project.
Safety, Safeguarding and Visibility
Ensure compliance with Tdh security, Child Safeguarding, PSEAH, Code of Conduct, and occupational health and safety requirements.
Ensure appropriate use of PPE and compliance with environmental, health, safety, and safeguarding standards during field implementation.
Ensure project visibility complies with donor and Tdh branding guidelines, and promptly report safeguarding or security concerns.
Project Quality and Compliance
Ensure compliance with Tdh policies, donor requirements, national regulations, and project implementation standards.
Integrate gender equality, disability inclusion, safeguarding, AAP, environmental sustainability, climate resilience, conflict sensitivity, and Do No Harm principles across all project activities.
Support project monitoring, evaluations, audits, and donor visits, identify implementation risks, and recommend corrective actions.
Document best practices, lessons learned, and innovations, and perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager consistent with project objectives and Tdh policies
