Job Context:
∎ Volunteer for Resilient, Inclusive and Innovative Cities in Bangladesh (RIICB) Project (INT8199)
∎ OXFAM in Bangladesh has been implementing a project titled "Resilient, Inclusive and Innovative Cities in Bangladesh (RIICB) project in Mymensingh City Corporation (MCC) aims to strengthen the resilience of marginalized communities of urban areas of Bangladesh through improved access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH); disaster risk reduction (DRR); and livelihood opportunities for youth. The project is focusing to build a multi-sector model for urban resilience, primarily focusing on the key vulnerabilities and opportunities in an underserved area in Mymensingh. Specifically, by 2023 the project will:

∎ demonstrate innovative and entrepreneurial models for resilient urban WASH, including a sustainable FSM system that engages government, private sector, academia and communities
∎ demonstrate a model for urban disaster preparedness and response based on active citizenship, with five wards better prepared in DRR through trained Disaster Management Committees and Emergency Response Coordination Groups at community and institution levels.
∎ increase youth agency, voice and collective action through leadership development, life skills training and expanding access to decent work opportunities

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Objective of the volunteer engagement is -
∎ To achieve outcomes of Resilient, Inclusive and Innovative Cities (RIICB) in Bangladesh project through engaging and supporting Oxfam in Bangladesh programme team and partner organization in implementation of improved access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH); disaster risk reduction (DRR); and livelihood opportunities for youth activities.
∎ Specific Objectives of the assignment -
∎ Support partner organization to collect case studies, develop digital monitoring apps , under the project
∎ Support to organize local and national level workshop, meeting, and training
∎ Support Partner team for timely implementation of planned activities of the project
∎ Support partner in documentation showcasing and reporting of project activities
∎ Support to conduct the studies and research
∎ Support partner in FSTP, Public toilet construction and Water point installation
∎ Support the programme team in communication and coordination with other stakeholders e.g., partners, different networks, clusters, and academia etc

∎ Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences and gender issues, as well as the commitment to equal opportunities.
∎ Ability to demonstrate an openness and willingness to learn about the application of gender/gender mainstreaming, women's rights, and diversity for all aspects of development work.
∎ Commitment to undertake Oxfam's safeguarding training and adherence of relevant policies to ensure all people who come into contact with Oxfam are as safe as possible

Salary:
∎ We will provide an inspirational remuneration for food and local conveyance purpose (BDT. 1000/= for each working day)
