Educational Requirements:
∎ Masters degree in any discipline
∎ A masters degree in a related field (urban planning, international development, psychology, social sciences or health field).

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Strategy and Innovation
∎ Develop short, medium and long term strategies to address current and emergent issues being solved by the Urban Programs team, in line with national strategies and core strategies of SAJIDA Foundation
∎ Contribute to designing and implementing a participatory process of engaging with community in collaboration with other members of the Urban Programs team. This participatory process will aim to generate insights and innovative solutions to address key issues faced by community members. This will involve frequent field visits and engagement with community members.
∎ Contribute to generating and communicating strategic, research, policy and project insights in a variety of outputs (reports, policy briefs, blog posts, round table discussions and community content).
∎ Pilot Project Implementation
∎ Participate in implementation and learning activities of pilot project activities. This may include frequent field visits and close engagement with service users during pilot periods.
∎ Engage in reflexive and team learning processes in order to refine and improve project(s)/model(s)
∎ Ensures pilot program targets are met according to work plan deadlines
∎ Engage in designing, collecting and analysing Monitoring & Evaluation data to refine and learn from pilot projects
∎ Works with the SICB, urban programs, senior management and finance teams to ensure that all program activities align with the strategies and values of SAJIDA Foundation.
∎ Partnership Development:?
∎ Be a focal point for allocated aspects of pilot project(s)
∎ Develop collaborative, trusting and respectful relationships with community members
∎ Develop and maintain partnerships national and international development stakeholders to further the implementation and strategic vision of pilot project(s)
∎ Prepare and submit reports and publications to development partners and key stakeholders
∎ Capacity Building
∎ Capacity Building of Urban Programs staff: organizing training workshops and providing mentoring to other members of the Urban Programs team based on expertise and pilot project engagement.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ At least 3 years experience working with urban poor communities
∎ At least 1 year of experience working with individuals/communities who are classified ‘at risk’ or ‘vulnerable’ strongly preferred (this may include those experiencing homelessness, women or youth experiencing violence, persons with disability or additional health needs, members of the LGBTIQI community or from ethnic or religious minorities).
∎ Work or volunteer experience demonstrates a strong commitment to addressing social justice issues using participatory and collaborative methods.
∎ Demonstrated skills in leadership, team work, innovation and problem solving.
∎ Demonstrated ability to engage in reflexive practice and a commitment to life-long learning and enquiry
∎ Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis strongly preferred.
∎ Understanding of the development and political urban context and the cultural, social, economic and gender dynamics that influence outcomes for individuals and communities in urban areas.
∎ Demonstrated written and oral English and Bangla communication skills (must be able to provide an independently created and relevant English writing sample).
