Project Description:

Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a global project funded by the U.S. Government through the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The project provides strategic technical support and direct service delivery to strengthen Global Health Security (GHS), including outbreak preparedness and response; improve maternal and child health (MCH); and support health systems strengthening (HSS), with a strong focus on supply chain management. Epic is led by FHI 360 and implemented in partnership in seven districts of Bangladesh.

Position Summary

The Upazila Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, supervising, and monitoring project implementation at the upazila level. The role ensures effective delivery of MNCHN, EMCE, IPC, and health security interventions through close collaboration with government health facilities, local administration, and community structures, in compliance with donor and government requirements.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Anthropology, Development Studies, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience:

·         At Least 4- 5 Years

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health/Social Sciences/Anthropology/Development Studies, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in health or development programs, including field coordination roles.

  • Proven experience working with government health systems and local administration at upazila level.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bangla.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Email).

  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the upazila and district.

  • Motorcycle driving skill with valid driving license.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in MNCHN, health security, EMCE, IPC, or community engagement programs.

  • Previous experience working with NGO or donor-funded projects (USAID, UNICEF, WHO, etc.).

  • Experience supporting multisectoral coordination involving health, livestock, and local government sectors.

  • Familiarity with government planning, review, and reporting platforms (HMIS, review meetings, QICs).

  • Experience working in emergency preparedness, outbreak response, or humanitarian settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee implementation of all project activities at upazila level in line with approved work plans and timelines.

  • Maintain regular coordination with Upazila Health Complex (UHC), UH&FWCs, Community Clinics, and relevant government departments.

  • Supervise and provide technical and operational guidance to Upazila Facilitators and field staff.

  • Support implementation of MNCHN, EMCE, IPC, community engagement, and emergency preparedness activities.

  • Organize and facilitate upazila-level meetings, trainings, workshops, and review sessions with government and community stakeholders.

  • Monitor activity progress, ensure quality implementation, and support timely corrective actions.

  • Ensure timely collection, verification, and submission of field-level data, reports, and documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements, government guidelines, safeguarding, and organizational policies.

  • Identify operational risks and challenges at field level and escalate issues to district/project management.

  • Support joint supervision, monitoring visits, and learning exchanges with government counterparts.
