Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Engineering or another relevant field

Job Context:
∎ The Upazila Market Facilitator (UMF) is responsible for mapping households needs for improved sanitation in designated upazilas. The UMC counsels and support households through the process of purchase and installing an improved latrine through household counselling sessions. In coordination with Market Development Officer, UMF will connect and support local service providers to provide quality services to consumers. The UMF is also responsible for the collection of sales, key stakeholder and some event/activity data. They will also be responsible for entering the data into the relevant databases and supporting other project staff with data entry as required. The UMF will also participate in the yearly Market Systems Survey and other relevant research projects undertaken by the project team.

∎ The position would be the regular employment of iDE-B
∎ The remuneration package, work days and deliverables might be change based onnegotiation among iDE management and the contract
∎ iDE reserve rights to terminate this agreement at any time with the consultation of the employee as per HR policy.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Function as Upazila Market Facilitator on all project activities within an assigned district, under supervision of the Market Development officer
∎ Provide strong feedback loop from key project stakeholders to project staff
∎ Programmatic Responsibilities:
∎ Develop assessment of existing resourcing ( including land, existing latrine materials, future home plan with the households
∎ Co-develop land assessment plan with the households.
∎ Provide linkages to households with Local Service Providers
∎ Educate and support households through the process of purchase and installing an improved latrine through household counselling sessions
∎ Build rapport and trust with sanitation related entrepreneurs for effective communication and linkage development
∎ Co-facilitate sanitation and hygiene product demand creation activities with sanitation and hygiene related entrepreneurs and MDOs
∎ Collect sales and profile data from all assigned stakeholders on a monthly basis as per agreed upon interval (latrine producers, dealers and other relevant stakeholders

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2 years of experience working on market system development in sanitation or another relevant field
∎ Must understand the technical, social, and other constraints in Cox's Bazar
∎ Prior data collection and community engagement experience desirable.
∎ Programmatic Skills:
∎ Ability to responsibly manage household and stakeholder relations
∎ Ability to plan and implement iterative field level activities
∎ Good analytical and problem solving skill
∎ Personal Skills:
∎ Energetic and focused approach to counselling and mentoring
∎ Excellent interpersonal skills
∎ Self-motivated, energetic and team player
∎ Ability to work with various national and international team members and flexibility to adapt to different work conditions
∎ Ability to interact and collaborate with a broad range of public and private sector and NGO partners
∎ Physical and Language Skills:
∎ Ability to travel and undertake fieldwork in rural context
∎ Ability to drive motorcycles and having valid driving license
∎ Physical fitness required for frequent field visits and extensive travel.
∎ Written and oral communication skills in English, including ability to present coherent and convincing messages to different audiences
∎ Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail and the internet
∎ Familiarity with internet based software systems such as Google Apps
