∎ National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEL) is a nationwide program of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) under the operation plan of Communicable Diseases Control with which BRAC is a partner along with Sub-recipients (SRs). SAJIDA Foundation, one of the SR’s is implementing this program in Dharmapasha, Durgapur & Kalmakanda Upazillas of Sunamgonj & Netrokona districts since 2008. The objective of the project is to eliminate Malaria through proper case detection, laboratory testing of suspected cases, and provision of free medicines to the patients & distribution of LLINs to the high risk population.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Planning:
∎ Lead the malaria team at Upazila level and prepare annual work plan to achieve targets
∎ Provide necessary information to higher management in decision making
∎ 2. Implementation:
∎ Conduct monthly performance review meeting with health workers
∎ Organize awareness meetings with community
∎ Ensure proper distribution of bed nets and organize sessions for bed net treatment as per guideline and ensure its utilization.
∎ Ensure regular drugs and diagnostics supply to health workers and laboratories
∎ Ensure quality diagnosis, treatment and follow up of patients
∎ Ensure referral of complicated patient to Upazila health complex or other facilities
∎ Ensure implementation of the surveillance system (i.e. data collection, reporting and feedback) and EDPT
∎ Facilitate internal & external monitoring and audit
∎ 3. Monitoring, supervision & coordination:
∎ Supervise all activities under laboratory technician, program organizer, project assistant, health workers and special health workers
∎ Maintain coordination with Government, BRAC and project office
∎ Conduct regular visit to oversee programme implementation and filling up the checklist.
∎ Facilitate periodic visits by NMCP, BRAC, WHO, GFATM and other stakeholders
∎ Attend monthly and quarterly meeting at regional level organised by PR
∎ 4. Reporting & Dissemination:
∎ Ensure timely, complete and accurate reporting as per MIS guideline
∎ Prepare monthly and quarterly performance report and indent of drugs & logistics
∎ Ensure any other reports to PR and NMCP as and when necessary
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Minimum 3 years management experience in any health care initiative.
∎ Good skills in MS office, Excel & PowerPoint
∎ Ability to work with government and development partner.
∎ Ability to work independently and in a team.
∎ Adequate knowledge in health and social structures in Bangladesh
∎ Strong interpersonal and communication skill.
∎ Good oral and written communication skill (English and Bengali).
∎ Valid motorcycle license and willingness to drive motorcycle
∎ Base location will be Dharmapasha Upazilla of Sunamgonj District.
Salary: Tk. 30000 (Monthly)
