Project Brief:

To enhance Early Childhood Development (ECD) and reduce Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in underserved and substandard urban settlements of Narayanganj and Gazipur Districts of Dhaka Division in Bangladesh, the project aims to create a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 3 to 6 through Resource Centre’s (RCs) that will provide daycare services, pre-primary education, and legal aid support for their families. Over the five-year project period, the consistent delivery of ECD services will support the long-term cognitive, emotional, and physical development of children, helping them build a stronger foundation for the future. Sustained legal aid services, community awareness campaigns, and proactive engagement with community members are expected to contribute to reducing GBV, creating a safer, more enabling environment for both the targeted children and the wider community.

Job Purpose:

The person will be responsible for providing effective supervision and guidance to Programme Organisers to ensure the quality implementation of project activities in Resource Centres/BRAC Schools. The role aims to monitor field activities, strengthen teaching-learning practices, ensuring compliance with programme guidelines, and coordinating with communities and stakeholders to achieve programme targets and improve learning outcomes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to Programme Organisers to ensure effective implementation of programme activities in accordance with organisational policies and guidelines.

  • Monitor and assess field operations, including activities at Resource Centre/BRAC School with particular attention to enrollment, attendance, fee collection and overall programme performance.

  • Review reports and documentation submitted by Programme Organisers and provide constructive feedback to improve accuracy, quality and compliance.

  • Facilitate and coordinate training, refresher sessions, and other capacity-building initiatives for Programme Organisers, teachers, caregivers and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Maintain effective liaison and coordination with community members, parents, government authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and successful programme implementation.

  • Facilitate local procurement of programme materials and services in accordance with organisational procurement guidelines ensuring proper documentation, transparency and cost-effectiveness.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.
