Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in social science, Development Studies, Anthropology, or related discipline.
Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
Experience in community mobilization, group formation, and grassroots facilitation.
Strong understanding of participatory rural appraisal (PRA) tools and community engagement approaches.
Ability to work closely with marginalized and indigenous communities.
Good interpersonal and communication skills in Bangla; local dialect knowledge will be an advantage.
Basic report writing and documentation skills.
Willingness to work in hard-to-reach areas and adapt to field conditions.
Team-oriented, motivated, and sensitive to gender and social inclusion issues.
Ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid driving license.
DASCOH Foundation, as a partner organization of WaterAid Bangladesh, will implement the Civil Society Leadership in Mobilizing for Better WASH (CLIMB) Project in Niamatpur Upazila of Naogaon District. The expected outcomes of the CLIMB project are;
Civil society amplifies the voices of rightsholders to claim and secure their rights.
Civil society effectively holds duty bearers accountable to deliver on their WASH, climate and health commitments.
Decision-makers commit to gender-responsive and climate resilient WASH policies
Decision-makers commit to increased and improved gender responsive and climate resilient WASH financing.
To ensure strong community engagement, Union Outreach and Community Mobilizer will be deployed in the project area, each covering two unions. They will facilitate community organisation, strengthen local leadership platforms, support community monitoring initiatives, and ensure meaningful participation of women, ethnic minority groups, and other marginalised populations. Their work will play a key role in amplifying the voices of rights-holders and strengthening community engagement in local governance processes.
Job Responsibilities:
Mobilise and organise communities within assigned unions to actively participate in project activities and local governance processes.
Facilitate the formation, strengthening, and effective functioning of community groups, WASH platforms, and local leadership structures.
Support community participation in Participatory WASH Vulnerability Assessments (PWVA), adaptation planning, social accountability, and budget tracking initiatives.
Ensure meaningful engagement of women, ethnic minority groups, youth, and other marginalized populations in project interventions.
Conduct community meetings, awareness sessions, courtyard meetings, and advocacy events on climate-resilient and gender-responsive WASH issues.
Assist in organising Ward Shavas, open budget sessions, public hearings, and community-government dialogue meetings.
Support community monitoring of WASH, climate, and health-related services and commitments.
Collect field-level information, success stories, case studies, and community feedback for project learning and reporting.
Maintain regular liaison with Union Parishad representatives, community leaders, and local stakeholders.
Submit regular field reports and updates to the Project Manager and relevant project staff.
