Experience in WASH, health, nutrition, or climate-related programs is preferred.
Experience working with local government and community institutions is an advantage
Strong community facilitation and mobilization skills
Good communication skills in Bangla (basic English preferred)
Ability to organize meetings, training, and community events
Basic knowledge of digital data collection tools (KoBo/ODK preferred)
Teamwork, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in challenging field environments

SAINT-Bangladesh is implementing the CLIMB Project to strengthen climate-resilient, inclusive, and gender-responsive WASH governance in vulnerable coastal communities. The project emphasizes civil society engagement, advocacy, social accountability, and improved WASH service delivery with a special focus on women and vulnerable groups.
The Civil Society Leadership in Mobilizing for Better WASH (CLIMB) Partnership Programme supported by WaterAid Bangladesh aims to strengthen climate-resilient, inclusive, and gender-responsive WASH governance in the climate-vulnerable coastal areas of Dashmina Upazila, Patuakhali. SAINT-Bangladesh is implementing the CLIMB Project to strengthen climate-resilient, inclusive, and gender-responsive WASH governance in coastal areas. The project emphasizes advocacy, social accountability, civil society engagement, and improved service delivery for vulnerable populations.
The project focuses on:
• Strengthening civil society capacity
• Promoting participatory governance and social accountability
• Evidence-based advocacy and policy influence
• Improving WASH and health outcomes, especially for women
The Union Community Mobilizer (UCM) will support the implementation of community-level activities under the CLIMB Project. S/he will mobilize communities, strengthen participation of local groups, and facilitate advocacy and social accountability initiatives to improve climate-resilient and gender-responsive WASH services. The UCM will work closely with Union-level stakeholders, community groups, and civil society actors to enhance awareness, participation, and engagement in WASH governance.
Responsibility # 01: Community Mobilization & Implementation
• Facilitate implementation of project activities at union and ward levels as per approved plans.
• Organize community meetings, courtyard sessions, awareness campaigns, and social mobilization activities on WASH, climate change, and health.
• Support formation and strengthening of community groups (WASH Committees, Ward Development Committees, CBOs).
• Promote inclusive participation of women, youth, and vulnerable groups in community processes.
• Assist in implementing advocacy campaigns and community-led initiatives.
Responsibility # 02: Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination
• Maintain regular coordination with Union Parishad members, local leaders, and frontline service providers.
• Support engagement between communities and duty bearers to strengthen accountability mechanisms.
• Participate in union-level coordination meetings and provide updates on project progress.
• Facilitate dialogue sessions, public hearings, and interface meetings between citizens and service providers.
Responsibility # 03: Capacity Building & Facilitation
• Support training, orientation, and capacity-building sessions for community groups and volunteers.
• Facilitate learning sessions on WASH governance, climate resilience, gender equality, and social accountability.
• Provide mentoring and follow-up support to community leaders and volunteers.
Responsibility # 04: Monitoring, Data Collection & Reporting
• Collect field-level data using digital tools (e.g., KoBo, ODK, ONA) as per project requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, participants, and outputs.
• Assist in preparing monthly reports, case studies, and success stories.
• Support monitoring visits, assessments, and evaluations.
• Ensure data quality, completeness, and timely submission.
Responsibility # 05: Communication & Knowledge Sharing
• Document best practices, community feedback, and lessons learned.
• Support communication and visibility activities, including storytelling and media engagement.
• Share field-level insights with Project Officer – Program for adaptive planning
Responsibility #:6: Other Responsibilities
• Support any additional tasks assigned by the Project Officer – Program.
• Maintain discipline, teamwork, and positive working relationships.
• Support budget tracking and ensure cost-effective implementation of activities.
• Assist in logistical arrangements for meetings, training, and field visits.

Responsibilities # 8 : Coordination & Collaboration
• Coordinate with project team, government stakeholders, CSOs, and partners on MEAL-related activities.
• Participate in coordination meetings and share monitoring findings.
• Liaise with central MEAL unit and donor representatives as required.
