Job Summary:
The Endoscopy & Colonoscopy Technologist is responsible for assisting physicians in performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. The role involves preparing patients, handling endoscopic equipment, ensuring infection control, and maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Procedure Assistance:
Assist physicians during endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures.
Prepare procedure rooms with necessary instruments and equipment.
Ensure all required tools are sterile and ready before procedures.
Patient Preparation & Care:
Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and obtaining necessary information.
Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and safety before, during, and after procedures.
Monitor patient condition and report any abnormalities immediately.
Equipment Handling:
Operate and maintain endoscopy and colonoscopy equipment.
Perform cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of scopes and accessories.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
Infection Control & Safety:
Follow strict infection prevention and control protocols.
Adhere to international standards for endoscope reprocessing.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate patient records, procedure details, and equipment logs.
Assist in preparing reports and ensuring proper documentation.
Pre & Post-Procedure Care:
Assist in patient recovery and post-procedure monitoring.
Provide basic post-procedure instructions to patients when required.
Coordination:
Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff.
Manage scheduling and patient flow efficiently.
Emergency Response:
Assist in handling emergency situations during procedures.
Be prepared to provide basic life support if needed.

Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information at all times.
