The Technical Trainer- Hand Embroidery & Hand Stitching will provide high-quality technical and practical training in hand embroidery and hand stitching, ensuring participants acquire marketable skills, understand quality standards, and can produce products suitable for local demand within the camp context.
Conduct competency-based training on hand embroidery and hand stitching according to approved curricula.
Deliver both theoretical and practical sessions using participatory training methodologies.
Demonstrate various embroidery techniques, stitching methods, and finishing processes.
Ensure trainees achieve required competency standards before graduation.
Conduct regular assessments, practical tests, and skill evaluations.
Train participants on introduction to hand sewing tools and materials & basic and advanced hand stitching techniques.
Provide training on running stitch, back stitch, chain stitch, blanket stitch, cross stitch, satin stitch, and decorative embroidery techniques.
Provide training on measurement and cutting techniques & decorative finishing and quality control.
Support production of marketable items such as: traditional garments, children's clothing, handkerchiefs, cushion covers, bags and pouches & decorative household items.
Promote teamwork, confidence, and entrepreneurship among participants.
Ensure all practical work meets established quality standards.
Ensure workplace safety and hygiene during training sessions.
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
