Job Context:
∎ iDE Bangladesh is looking for a qualified "Technical Specialist" for the anticipated enterprise development project. The Technical Specialist will support the project team to develop strategic and planning direction. With the help of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team, he/she will develop progress reports to keep track of project goals and outcomes. He/she will help design and implement Training Needs Assessment in the ?eld level. Using HCD model, build on strengthening the VDOs. He/she will provide general technical oversight to the project activities and develop and maintain relationships, and work closely with local market actors. He/she will develop strategies and means to facilitate access to ?nance for bene?ciary entrepreneurs and enterprises.

∎ Duration: July 2021 to November 2022
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsibilities of the Enterprise Development Specialist include but are not limited to the descriptions below.
∎ Under the supervision of the Field Coordinator (FC), function as the primary technical lead in the field level for the project.
∎ Design and guide the implementation of project interventions and enterprise development activities based on the project's Theory of Change and Results Framework.
∎ In collaboration with the assigned M&E expert, ensure monitoring of market linkages, and collection of regular sales data from beneficiary enterprises, update and track progress towards project's goals and desired outcomes related to strengthening of microenterprises and the wider market ecosystems;
∎ Using elements of Human Centered Design, and in collaboration with the project's private sector partners, research, design, develop and refine, initial business models for priority enterprises including last-mile actors.
∎ Conduct Training Needs Assessment for the MSMEs. Based on the results of the assessment, develop required training curriculums, including business planning, business skills, and entrepreneurship training
∎ Provide guidance, technical oversight and quality assurance to the field team in training and capacity building activities for MSMEs
∎ Develop and maintain relationships and work closely with local market actors, including national and local government, private sector, community, NGOs, other donors
∎ Work with financial institutions to develop strategies and means to facilitate access to finance for beneficiary entrepreneurs and enterprises in accordance with the project implementation strategy
∎ Ensure the application of iDE's market system approach and closely work with market actors specific to selected value chains and business groups/actors
∎ Assist the Field Coordinator in planning and provide technical guidance for strategy formulation and implementation to achieve required project outcomes
∎ Develop progress report and other reports in a regular basis, document the key learning and findings, ensure accurate and timely data entry into the database
∎ Actively engage in initiating best practices, key learnings, unique cases and other relevant documentation to share with the wider team
∎ Provides close and supportive oversight and guidance to the field team and other stakeholders in the assigned areas to demonstrate outcomes and impact
∎ Represent iDE at external events and meetings as agreed with supervisor Participate in relevant meetings and workshops
∎ Undertake additional tasks subject to workload and skill sets such as project communications or visibility.
Additional Requirements:
∎ A successful Technical Specialist will have the following skills and experience and will be comfortable with the following conditions.
∎ Work Experience:
∎ At least 5 year of work experience in the development project implementation, preferably with a focus on enterprise development, agriculture, and market systems.
∎ Experience in market systems development programs; advanced understanding of value chain approaches, rural markets, rural service provision, and private sector engagement.
∎ Knowledge and experience in the area of renewable energy and climate mitigation and adaptation desirable.
∎ Personal Skills:
∎ Strong facilitation skills.
∎ Ability to work in a multicultural environment with both national and expatriate team members and ?exibility to adapt to different work conditions.
∎ Ability to interact and collaborate with a broad range of public and private sector and NGO partners.
∎ Physical and Language Skills:
∎ Ability to travel and undertake ?eld work in rural contexts.
∎ Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Bangla, including ability to present coherent and convincing messages to different audiences
∎ Strong computer skills and proficient user of computer software (i.e. MS O?ce, email, internet etc.).
∎ Familiar with internet based software systems such as Google App.
∎ Other Information and Conditions:
∎ This is a full-time position with iDE Bangladesh
∎ The Technical Specialist must maintain con?dentiality of all work-related information and documents in accordance with iDE policy.
Salary:
∎ BDT 78,750 to 81,113 (with other organization benefits)
