∎ Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement Education Cannot Wait (ECW) Multi Year Resilience Program (MYRP) top up funding under its Humanitarian Preparedness and Response Program, Cox`s Bazar in partnership with Plan International Bangladesh (PIB). The duration of the project is 17 Months (to be extended subject to the provision of project extension afterward). The position will be recruited for implementing the project based at the Field Office at Ukhia with substantial field activities at different camps and host communities. The job is contractual for the project period with a three (3) months` probation period.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Technical Officer-Myanmar Curriculum (Primary & KG) will be responsible for the implementation of the Myanmar Curriculum component targeting children aged 5-14. S/he will ensure the delivery and achievement of programme outputs in particular establishment of Community Based Learning Facilities, for the identification and mobilization of teachers/facilitators in displaced and host communities, support for teachers training, capacity building of teacher, Volunteer and stakeholders, delivery of Myanmar Curriculum(primary) activities for targeted children including psychosocial support and referral, delivery of learning and teaching material. S/he will communicate frequently with Technical Coordinator- Myanmar Curriculum for quality delivery of project activities expenditure, technical assistance, reporting and donor compliance. S/he will also communicate with Technical Specialist- Myanmar Curriculum (PIB) for technical issue and maintain strong coordination with stakeholders at Camp level including CiC, ACiC. Se/he will take proactive stance in identifying and mitigating child protection and safeguarding related risk in the implementation of the project activities and will represent FIVDB at Camp sub district level. S/he will be reportable to Technical Coordinator-Myanmar Curriculum .
∎ Key Roles and Responsibilities:
∎ Assessment:
∎ Support education needs assessment as needed in intervention target areas;
∎ Review, assess and update the education situation in areas affected by emergency (camps sites and host communities).;
∎ Take proactive stance for identifying and mitigating risk in project implementation.
∎ Support to identify potential and qualified Teacher and Volunteers for Myanmar Curriculum intervention.
∎ Support to design formative assessment for tools, facilitate and support formative assessment and ensure progress of learners.
∎ Highlight education related issues requiring an immediate or medium-term response and inform the – Technical Coordinator-Myanmar Curriculum and Project Coordinator;
∎ Assist in capacity building of field /camp level staff or volunteers.
∎ Planning and Implementation:
∎ Facilitate and support to establish Community Based Learning Facilities (CBLF)/Learning Facilities for Myanmar Curriculum in collaboration with Majhi, community and site management.
∎ Facilitate in identifying learners both girls and boys including Children with Disability following process;
∎ Facilitate and ensure distribution of teaching- learning and other required material for intervention and use.
∎ Prepare monthly activity plan(weekly/monthly) based on DIP/quarterly plan and ensure effective implementation of planned on time activity in collaboration with community and stakeholder.
∎ Track the progress of project activities and provide regular update to the – Technical Coordinator-MC .
∎ Participate in education programme review meeting at sub-district level;
∎ Gather and provide information for progress reports to ensure timely implementation of MCand learning activities;
∎ Ensure early and rigorous implementation of quality and accountability mechanisms.
∎ Facilitate and ensure engagement of parents and community people and other stakeholders and strengthen their capacity to promote girl’s education, disability inclusion and creating learning environment.
∎ Capacity Building and Technical Support:
∎ Assess the training need of Teacher, Mentor Teacher, Female Monitor and Program Organizer and develop a rigorous plan for improvement;
∎ Support to design capacity building activities/training for Teacher/Volunteers/stakeholders in the areas of Myanmar curriculum ;
∎ Support to prepare Training Manual/Module, schedule for conducting quality training, workshop and meeting.
∎ Organize and facilitate training, workshop, meeting for Teacher, volunteers, community people & stakeholders maintaining standards.
∎ Provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring support to the Mentor Teacher/ Program Organizers, Teacher in technical aspect of project and continuous professional development Take necessary initiatives and ensure support to mobilize and capacity building of Parents Education Support Group/community group for effective implementation of program, build ownership and promote girls education .
∎ Monitoring , Reporting & Evaluation:
∎ Visit project sites on regular basis to supervise and monitor Myanmar Curriculum class and related activities in the affected communities, and take initiative for further improvement based on findings.
∎ Ensure quality delivery of Class, parents awareness session, MHPSS session, other activities related to Myanmar Curriculum following education sector and program guideline.
∎ Document challenges, best practices and success stories for sharing the learnings;
∎ Assist M&E Officer, PIB M&E team, Technical Specialist-Myanmar Curriculum(PIB) in data collection and storage;
∎ Facilitate and support conducting different assessment;
∎ Support the monitoring and reporting of major concerns on education and as well as child protection concerns inside and around the learning centres/spaces
∎ Support regular and during donor progress report by providing necessary quantitative and qualitative data in time.
∎ Information and Co-ordination:
∎ Provide regular updates to the Technical Coordinator-Myanmar Curriculum and Technical Specialist-MC on progress, priorities and constraints -verbally and written on an agreed platform.
∎ Develop and maintain strong coordination with communities, Majhis, site management, camp level govt. official( CiC, ACiC) and other stakeholders for effective planning & implementation of program.
∎ Engage and follow up with relevant implementation staff
∎ Child protection, gender equality and inclusion:
∎ Ensures that FIVDB and Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and FIVDB and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), PSEA Policy, their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

Salary:
∎ Tk. 54500 (Monthly)
∎ 10% of the Basic Salary will be deducted as Staff Security Fund (Payment made after project closing/ Leave from FIVDB) Deduction of Tax at the source Yearly Salary Increment(Up to 5-10% based on Performance Appraisal and budgeted provision of the selected project)
