Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Develop annual and quarterly implementation plans for livelihood interventions under the Technical and Project Coordinator’s supervision.
∎ Ensure timely execution of livelihood activities, aligning with donor regulations and FIVDB’s principles.
∎ Support the creation and updating of Detailed Implementation Plans (DIPs), procurement plans, and distribution schedules for livelihood inputs.
∎ Deliver field-level training to program participants on livelihood skills, including climate-smart agriculture, nutrition-sensitive kitchen gardening, poultry, livestock, small-scale enterprises, and work readiness skills.
∎ Facilitate market linkages, connecting program participants with local markets, vendors, and government services.
∎ Monitor program progress against targets, reporting to the Technical Coordinator, Meal and Project Coordinator as well.
∎ Conduct regular follow-up and monitoring to ensure effective and efficient implementation of livelihood interventions, addressing critical issues promptly.
∎ Strengthen networks among partners, stakeholders, and youth participants.
∎ Provide supervision and coaching to the livelihoods team to ensure the quality of day-to-day activities, make the effective use of delivered input support, promote business sustainability, and mitigate risks.
∎ Collaborate with livelihoods, Child Protection, and Education colleagues to deliver technical and vocational training through contracted entities and local mentor trainers, emphasizing wage and self-employment opportunities for program participants.
∎ Assist the Project Coordinator in developing annual and quarterly budgets for livelihood interventions.
∎ Identify and select target participants using participatory approaches.
∎ Organize and conduct training sessions for community groups, women, youth, and adolescents on sustainable livelihood practices.
∎ Conduct regular learning, sharing, and accountability sessions to gather feedback and drive continuous improvement.
∎ Support community-based groups in establishing income-generating activities and accessing financial services.
∎ Promote gender equality and inclusion in livelihood interventions, ensuring participation of vulnerable groups.
∎ Build capacity of local facilitators and volunteers through on-the-job coaching.
∎ Collect and validate data for the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) plan.
∎ Produce high-quality, timely event and program reports on livelihood activities to meet internal and donor requirements.
∎ Conduct regular field visits to assess program quality and gather beneficiary feedback.
∎ Ensure thorough documentation of FIVDB’s project experiences and lessons, including impactful stories, supported by photos, videos, and relevant annexes.
∎ Maintain an accurate and organized project database for the livelihood component, supporting evidence-building with revenue and income data.
∎ Collaborate with MEAL and technical teams to document lessons learned and implement the livelihoods MEAL framework.
∎ Closely monitor and supervise the implementation of livelihood activities and associated staff.
∎ Undertake additional duties as assigned.
∎ Collaborate with Sectoral Working Groups, Child Protection, and Education teams to address cross-cutting issues.
∎ Represent FIVDB in livelihood-related cluster meetings and stakeholder engagements at the camp and host community levels.
∎ Promote linkages with government, NGOs, and private sector actors to enhance livelihood opportunities.
∎ Job Context: Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is implementing the AHP-IV Project with Rohingya and Host communities under its Humanitarian Preparedness and Response program, Cox’s Bazar, with the support of Plan International Bangladesh and DFAT.
∎ Project Duration: 30 November 2025 (to be extended subject to the provision of project extension afterward). The position will be recruited for implementing the project based at the Field office at Teknaf, with substantial field activities at different camps and host communities at Teknaf. The job may be regularized after the completion of 3 months of service under FlVDB. The Technical Officer- Livelihood will be responsible for supporting the design and following up with the technical aspects of the project implementation. The key role is to work day to day with the Livelihood team, building their capacity in program implementation. He/She will also support the livelihood team to deliver quality projects. S/he will work closely as a part of the team with support from the Technical Coordinator-CP and the Project Coordinator.
∎ Job Responsibilities: The Technical Officer - Livelihood will support the design, implementation, and monitoring of livelihood activities, working closely with the Livelihood team and Technical Coordinator to ensure quality program delivery. Key responsibilities include:

∎ Ensures that FIVDB and Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy, including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and FIVDB and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
