Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Technical officer-Gender is a mid-level position to implement the Gender component of the USAID funded Nobo Jatra Program in the root level of respective Union, Ward and Village area under Dacope, Koyra, Kaliganj and Shyamnagar Upazila. He/she mainly responsible for execution as well as supervision of field activities following his/her JD as well as Sub-contract agreement clauses. He / She will be responsible for implementation of the local level media awareness campaign on Girls Not Bride, engage and sensitize community people, strengthen CPC, conduct life skill activities for adolescent girls, pilot Men Care group & youth leadership activities of the Nobo Jatra Program.
∎ Technical Officer - Gender will responsible planning & implementation of gender related activities of assigned Upazila under direct supervision and guidance of Upazila Coordinator. S/he will be responsible for supervision of Gender Organizers and provide technical guidance.
∎ Key responsibilities of Technical Officer - gender are-
∎ Plan and implement various activities related to gender within assigned Upazila
∎ Implement activities of Gender component in field level as per as instructed & technical guided by Upazila Gender Technical person from World Vision
∎ Guide Gender Organizer to implement field activity smoothly
∎ Ensure success of all events of Gender Sector
∎ Communicate effectively to Gov, Union & Upazilla Parishad, relevant NGOs and other stakeholders
∎ Provide Essential supports to solve all sorts of problem arises in the field
∎ Build Capacity of Field staffs of gender sector
∎ Assist staffs to facilitate and prepare community to get access to the NJP interventions
∎ Ensure community and respective stakeholders engagement for effective programming
∎ Facilitate and guide the different groups and committees of NJP (Men Care group, Influential group, Child Protection Committees, School Management Committee, VDC, Water Management Committee, UDMC, CSG)
∎ Maintain networking at Upazila level with
∎ Liaisons with different stakeholders
∎ Ensuring timely reporting and documentation of program events
∎ Area wise Specific Tasks are -
∎ Programme Implementation
∎ Ensured "Girls Not Bride" campaign effectively rolled out in field
∎ Ensured Local community theatre held at field level
∎ Organize and conduct Influential group meeting
∎ Facilitate training for Child Protection Committee (CPC) members at Union and Upazila level
∎ Prepare CPC action Plan & support to implement action plan
∎ Prepared sticker/leaflet & poster
∎ Organize & facilitate Gender Sensitization Training for staffs
∎ Conduct ToT on Leadership Training
∎ Relevant activities effectively integrated/ coordinated with other components
∎ Monitoring and follow-up of Gender Organizer effectively
∎ Technical support to implement Gender activities as per program requirement
∎ Community Transformation
∎ MenCare group functioning effectively
∎ UP Family Arbitration, Women & Child Welfare Standing Committee developed action plan & performing their role effectively
∎ Ensure Youth & Women took Leadership role in their community
∎ Early marriage stopped by influential group with the support of UP
∎ Documentation & Reporting
∎ Program event will document properly
∎ Submit reports on time
∎ Share important information and learning with relevant colleagues
∎ Collect & documented case study and success story
∎ Share Lesson learnt and best practices with the program management
∎ Networking & Advocacy
∎ Arrange and facilitate day observation event with close coordination with GoB
∎ Organize learning sharing meeting with other relevant NGOs and stakeholders
∎ Participate in meeting/workshop/orientation arrange by other GO and NGO
∎ Professional and Personal Development
∎ Participate in relevant trainings/Workshops/Orientations for self-capacity building and assessment
∎ Review document for self-learning
∎ Collect & study NJP documents for better understanding and development
∎ Maintain core values of World Vision and Shushilan
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 04 years relevant job experience including Food security, Gender, Equity and Women Empowerment related projects or USAID funded project implementation will be added advantage.
∎ Clear understanding on Gender, Gender Discrimination, Gender Equity & Equality, Gender based Violence, Gender Mainstreaming, Men engagement, Women & Child Rights, Human Rights
∎ Report writing skills
∎ Communication skills in both Bengali & English
∎ Computer literacy, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
∎ Experience in people management
∎ Ability to meet deadlines
∎ Extensively field oriented, positive attitude and committed to work hard
∎ Quick decision taking
