Job Context:
∎ FH Association (a Christian, relief & development organization) wants to fill one (1) Technical Officer- Fisheries position and therefore, inviting applications from eligible candidates.
∎ Job Summary:
∎ Technical Officer- Fisheries will provide technical support to ensure the successful implementation of "Sustainable Fisheries to Improve Livelihood and Nutrition" program under Godagari and Tanore Area Program, as well as assist management to overcome the barriers and challenges to implement the program successfully.
∎ Type of Job : Contractual
∎ Report to : Manager- Area Program and Manager- Livelihood
∎ Location : Godagari and Tanore Area Program
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Facilitate the selection of pond and beneficiaries in the selected communities;
∎ Provide technical skill training on modern fish cultivation to selected beneficiaries as well as enterprise development;
∎ Develop an implementation plan according to the PP and follow-up on regular basis;
∎ Organize stakeholder meetings on a regular basis (include Manager-AP and Manager- Livelihood);
∎ Plan, and execute other activities of the program successfully and organize refresher training of beneficiaries;
∎ Keep close collaboration with Department of Fisheries (DoF) and same goal-oriented and similar-minded I/NGOs;
∎ Develop an agreement/MOU among the Area Program Office, Fishermen group and Pond owner so that smooth operation of fish cultivation around the year can be ensured and conflict between other community members are avoided;
∎ Identify business opportunities for producer groups, facilitate writing the business plans, and identify potential private sector partners;
∎ Conduct market and value chain assessment;
∎ Assist the designing of training modules, IEC materials, etc.
∎ Ensure installation of information board on beneficial of fish cultivation;
∎ Assist program team in the preparation of all documents and reports necessary for the project implementation;
∎ Ensure all relevant data is submitted on time to the Line Manager and produce specific reports and data, when needed;
∎ Compile and submit regular project updates to the line manager;
∎ Attend, participate, and contribute in meetings, workshops, networking events; and
∎ Other Duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3 years practical experience if holder of B.Sc/M.Sc degree in Fisheries/Zoology; At least 6 years practical experience if holder of Diploma in Fisheries.
∎ Direct experience within an NGO/INGO is a plus.

∎ Excellent people skills including warmth and sensitivity, conversational, ability to relate to and communicate with people from different cultures (at various levels within the organization);

∎ Demonstrated computer operating skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Google platform, and virtual technologies such as Skype and / or GoToMeeting;
∎ Medical fitness to live and travel in rural and urban areas with extreme conditions and limited medical support;
∎ Willingness to travel extensively in the area/locations using own/organization motorcycle or local transport. Valid driving license is a plus.
