∎ The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Technical Coordinator (Nutrition Governance) to be responsible for providing technical support on establishing nutrition governance system in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) in collaboration with relevant district hill councils, government agencies, civil society organisations, traditional institutions of CHT, local government organisations (LGIs), private sectors and community support groups.
∎ This role is based in any CHT District, Bangladesh and is offered on a fixed term basis of up to 2 years (subject to funding).
∎ About the role:
∎ Reporting to the Portfolio Lead, Targeted Dietary Improvement Programme, the Technical Coordinator will be responsible for leading the process of implementing various activities for facilitating nutrition governance. Key deliverables in this role will consist of project monitoring with a set of standard operating procedures to ensure coherent and consistent delivery in order to ensure that key objectives and goals are met.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Providing technical support to implementing partners to ensure the effective delivery of project interventions in the selected CHT districts through developing concept, strategies and activity implementation guidelines
∎ Providing orientation, coaching, mentoring and hands-on supports to district technical coordinators and other key stakeholders
∎ Establishing and maintaining relationships with GoB stakeholders at national, regional, and sub-national level in order to establish nutrition governance process
∎ Strengthening capacity and facilate inter-departmental coordination in nutrition sensitive programming and service delivery of relevant government line departments, Local Government Institutions (LGIs), Hill District Councils (HDCs), CHT traditional institutions and relevant Service Providers (SPs)
∎ Representing GAIN through advocacy and influencing related activities at national and regional levels on nutrition priorities and issues
∎ Collaborating with the LEAN monitoring team, and Knowledge Leadership team on monitoring and evidence generation to support with further learning and funding opportunities
Additional Requirements:
∎ Candidates for this position should have proven experience in developing and managing projects at a high level in a multi-cultural environment within government or international organizations.
∎ Applicants will be required to demonstrate strong leadership and effective communication skills, with the ability to develop strong networks and working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Strong knowledge and professional experience of working directly with remote communities in CHT, Bangladesh with a nutrition focus is preferred. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional team player with the ability to work in a matrix structure and must be flexible and willing to travel in challenging environments.
