Job Context:
∎ Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement the Prevention and Response of Child Protection Concerns through Timely Initiative with Child Engagement ( PRACTICE) with Rohingya and Host communities under its Humanitarian Preparedness and Response Program, Cox`s Bazar with the support of Plan International Bangladesh and Music Aid.
∎ Project duration- 31 December 2024 (to be extended subject to the provision of project extension afterward). The position will be recruited for implementing the project based at the Field Office at Teknaf with substantial field activities at different camps and host communities at Teknaf. The job may be regularized after the completion of 3 months of services under FIVDB.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Technical Coordinator- CP(Child Protection) will be responsible for supporting the designing and following up with the technical aspects of the project implementation, strengthening the referral system as well as providing capacity building, and technical expertise. S/he will ensure case management and community-based child protection mechanism strengthening through the establishment of PSS activities for children and youth, youth engagement, and community empowerment. Communication with the community is the core component of the program including awareness-raising activities (sessions, broadcast), life skills, and advocacy activities to promote CPIE standards. S/he will be reportable to the Project Coordinator and supervise the case management officer and community-based child protection officer.
∎ Key Area 1: Provide technical support to ensure quality implementation of the CWC/PSS component of the CP response
∎ The Technical coordinator-CP will:
∎ Supervise and provide ongoing mentoring to CBCP officers on the preparation of life skills and awareness-raising sessions (CPIE, youth engagement, GBV, SHRH, UASC, DRR). This includes the review and development of programmatic tools, designing training sessions, and IEC material.
∎ Support the elaboration of the monthly and weekly work plan related to the implementation of the activities (coordination meetings in Cox's Bazar and Teknaf).
∎ Contribute to the elaboration of the reporting (data collection, and narrative report) accordingly to donor/projects requirements
∎ Supervise and monitor the psychosocial activities in the CFS (fix and mobile units) ensuring Child protection minimum standards, child safeguarding policies, and child/youth participation and gender balance
∎ Set up, supervise, and monitor youth club activities and the quality of the life skills sessions delivered by the workers and the volunteers
∎ Set up, supervise, and monitor child protection community-based groups (CBCPG) activities including their training and the awareness-raising activities related to strengthening the community-based child protection mechanisms (mapping of existing community structures, community dialogue, and engagement, awareness-raising activities responding to the needs of adolescents)
∎ Advocacy activities (campaign, radio broadcast)
∎ Liaise with the Case Management and Family Tracing and Reunification team to ensure that referrals of vulnerable children are done if needed
∎ Provide technical support to ensure quality implementation of the CM component.
∎ Conduct bi-weekly case management meetings to share case experiences among Case Workers and work with other agencies where appropriate.
∎ Provide case supervision and staff supportive supervision to CM Officers by applying the Child Protection Case Management Supervision tools and overview the quality implementation of the casework.
∎ Key Area 2: Staff Capacity Building
∎ Design and facilitate staff capacity building plan (appraisal)
∎ Contribute to the recruitment of officers' positions and volunteers
∎ Provide on-the-job coaching and support to officers in technical aspects of the program.
∎ Key Area 3: Coordination
∎ External Representation: He/she represents Plan International in the Communicating with Communities Working Group and relevant Task Forces as needed in Teknaf and camp level and sometimes in Cox's Bazar

∎ Previous experience working with adolescent girls and boys in adolescent clubs and with children in child-friendly spaces (recreational activities), engagement with community-based groups and youth clubs, Awareness-raising activities, advocacy.
∎ University degree in social work, psychology, social sciences or related field.
∎ Good knowledge and understanding of humanitarian principles and established international child protection minimum standards.
∎ Experience in implementing programs focusing on: working with vulnerable children, refugees, youth engagement,
∎ Proven project management skills, including in management, activity plan, monitoring, and evaluation for child protection projects
∎ Desirable-
