Job Responsibilities:
∎ Stream one: Gender Inclusion (60%)
∎ Understands, analyzes and Identifies gender-based opportunities and constraints aligned with inclusive market development opportunities. Conducts research on new/potential gender inclusive business models, or partnerships.
∎ Identify market actors, assesses end markets, analyze value chain maps with gender lens, and identifies market-based solutions and incentives to integrate women producers and labors into their supply chains and commercial distribution networks.
∎ Facilitates strategy sessions to design initiatives to integrate women producers into sector interventions e.g.supply chains or distribution networks.
∎ Drafts and reviews partnership agreements to ensure gender integration reflections
∎ Develop and review impact causal models/results chains to demonstrate how interventions will contribute to sustainable economic empowerment for women in targeted sectors/districts.
∎ Facilitates/conducts learning for cross-company learning initiatives. Manage events and ensure effective learning of attendees.
∎ Improves and adapts program design through internal and external collaboration and learning.
∎ Collects stakeholder reports, generates reports, or conducts additional research to support performance monitoring and evaluation data collection.
∎ Monitor the design and application of appropriate research methodology for knowledge management for Women's Economic Empowerment.
∎ Stream Two: Financial Inclusion (40%)
∎ Understands, analyzes and implements market relevant access to finance and financial services constraints and opportunities for farmers and other market system actors.
∎ Identify market actors, analyze value chain maps with market-based solutions and incentives to integrate farmers, both male and female, into the commercial distribution networks of financial stakeholders.
∎ Design, negotiate, implement & monitor the entire project management life-cycle Market Actor Agreements & partnerships of various modalities.
∎ Identify and engage financial institutions to provide suitable credit assessment solutions for agrimachinery companies. Aid in conducting baseline study and implementation plan for new innovative financial instruments & modalities (e.g. Asset Based Finance & Agricultural Commodity Exchange Platform).
∎ Design outreach and outcome driven financial sector intervention by partnering with financial sector entities to banking to support farmers' community with high potential of outreach (including ensure gender integration).
∎ Support MEL team for Knowledge Management documentation/report/study limited to Support Market Systems function
∎ Undertakes other duties and projects as may be assigned from time to time.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of five years' experience in agricultural market systems development including working in the private sector or supporting private enterprise. Proven experience in program design.
∎ Equivalent combination of education and experience.
