Job Responsibilities:
∎ The responsibilities of the Project Manager include but are not limited to the descriptions below.
∎ Overall Responsibilities:
∎ The Project Manager will be primarily responsible for executing the TA support agreed in Suchana under the technical direction of the iDE Programs Director. This will include:
∎ Developing/ contextualizing program approaches, materials, and deployment strategies for the TA assignment for iDE in Suchana;
∎ Responsibility for iDE field operations in Suchana in conjunction with the Field Team Leader iDE- Suchana;
∎ Liaising closely on the collection and analysis of monitoring and results measurement (MRM) data for Suchana from the iQ team in iDE; and,
∎ Budgeting, reporting and administration of the iDE's program of work in the Suchana Initiative to the coalition, and donor, as required.
∎ Technical Overview:
∎ With the Programs-Director, the Project Manager will identify and capitalize on best practices in Nutrition Sensitive Market System and management in other ongoing similar initiatives both within and out- side iDE and Bangladesh and the generate knowledge needed and lessons learnt to incorporate within the Suchana intervention as and when appropriate. The key technical areas include:
∎ The application of market system development/ private sector development approaches and theory such as Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P), into a large-scale food security and nutrition initiative in a coalition modality;
∎ Preparation of programs of technical assistance (such as training curriculums and other materials) to enable to the iDE-Suchana TA team to guide and support the Suchana implementation staff (both implementing and partner NGOs); and,
∎ The application of monitoring approaches such as the Donor Commission for Enterprise Development (DCED) standard for results measurement into the project to create a feedback loop will enable management to 'course-correct' from an informed position.
∎ Consortium Engagement:
∎ The Project Manager will be expected to work collaboratively with the wider Suchana coalition team to ensure that technical assistance is provided as a cross-cutting theme in the overall initiative. This will involve:
∎ Working cross-functionally with other experts (nutrition, gender, behavior change communications, poultry & livestock, aquaculture and horticulture science) in the routines and spaces developed by the project to ensure optimal project impact;
∎ Providing regular inputs and recommendations to the SUCHANA Project Management Committee and strategic leadership (comprised of the institutional
∎ representatives of the coalition partners) to- wards achieving education goals for
∎ the project.; and,
∎ Lead on engagement with partner organizations, and represent iDE both in the coalition, to the donor consortium, and to other external stakeholders as required in various knowledge sharing, project spaces, and industry events.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience Requirements:
∎ Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in developing and managing development programs, ideally in consortia, which follow market system-development principles;
∎ As this role requires a significant understanding of monitoring and results measurement (MRM), good experience of working directly with or alongside an M&E,
∎ MRM unit is required;
∎ Demonstrate high-level performance management and leadership skills, particularly influencing and communications skills;
∎ Expertise in strategic planning, program budgeting, financial management and reporting; and,
∎ Excellent skills in coordinating, leadership and presentation
∎ Personal Skills:
∎ Ability to facilitate capacity building training and mentoring
∎ Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
∎ Ability to work with various national and international team members and flexibility to adapt to different work conditions
∎ Ability to interact and collaborate with a broad range of public and private sector and NGO partners
∎ Physical and Language Skills:
∎ Ability to travel and undertake fieldwork in rural contexts
∎ Written and oral communication skills in English, including ability to presentcoherent and convincing messages to different audiences
∎ Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail and the internet
∎ Familiarity with internet based software systems such as Google Apps and Salesforce
∎ Other Information and Conditions:
∎ The Remuneration Package, work days and deliverables might be change based on negotiation between iDE management and the contract
∎ iDE reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time with the consultation of the employee as per HR policy
∎ It is duty and accountability of the Project Manager to maintain full confidentiality for sharing information, documents and others issues with others
