∎ Opportunity: The goal of BNA is to contribute to improvements in nutrition outcomes for children under five, pregnant and lactating women, and adolescent girls in the Feed the Future Zone of Influence (ZOI) by (1) increasing consumption of nutritious, diverse, and safe diets by rural households; (2) increasing social and economic empowerment of girls and women; and (3) improving adoption of improved water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices.
∎ The Activity uses a two-pronged approach-social and behavior change (SBC) and market systems development (MSD)-to introduce catalytic, scalable interventions and promote doable behaviors through local actors and systems that will sustainably improve nutritional outcomes. The Activity is targeting three key entry points for nutrition: consumer behaviors, supply chains, and environments. This Activity will implement nutrition-sensitive interventions that complement and reinforce ongoing nutrition-specific activities.
∎ As the Strategic Communications Officer for the Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity (the Activity), reporting to the Senior Manager - Strategic Communications, the Strategic Communications Officer you will be responsible for production of draft communication products, implementing the Activity`s communications and outreach strategy, and reviewing communication products for adherence to the Activity`s branding and marking plan.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Design and develop diverse communication products including social media posts (static/motion/GIF), newsletters, posters, infographics, success stories, technical/intervention briefs, and other multimedia products using appropriate (Adobe) software.
∎ Capture case studies, best practices, etc. through photography and videography, and deliver them in required formats. Source high-quality photographs and infographics for use in communication products. Ensure compliance with ethics standards in photography, videography, and quotes.
∎ Design, edit, and format reports and presentations.
∎ Review communication products for compliance with USAID and Feed the Future branding and editorial style.
∎ Support the Senior Manager - Communications in developing/adapting the Activity's communication strategy.
∎ With guidance from the Senior Manager - Communications, disseminate communication products via channels identified in the Activity's communications strategy.
∎ Support updating the repository of the Activity's technical products (reports, presentations, publications, key client communication) in SharePoint/Teams.
∎ Support the project's technical, cross-cutting, and operations teams in organizing meetings and events.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Preferred Qualifications:
∎ Prior experience working on donor-funded projects, preferably with USAID
∎ Excellent English language proficiency, including report writing skills
∎ Strong creative and analytical skills
∎ Ability to remain organized and deliver results under pressure
∎ Skilled in Adobe Suite such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
∎ Excellent Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. Experience in Google platforms and other virtual working platforms is a plus.
