Job Context:
∎ Ain-o-Salish Kendra (ASK) is one of the human rights and legal aid organizations in Bangladesh. ASK have both national and district level programmes focusing on comprehensive legal aid services, addressing gender based violence, promoting and protection of the rights of children and other vulnerable groups, reporting and documentation of violence against human rights defenders.
∎ ASK is searching for a competent Staff Lawyer. The key role of the position will be:
∎ Position Level: Mid-Level
∎ Nationality: Bangladeshi
∎ Reference: 2 (Two) References
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Visit PNGO(Partner non Government organization) offices and observe victims/survivors handling.
∎ Visit community/groups to gather information about victims/survivors.
∎ Provide legal advice to PNGO's staff and penal lawyers.
∎ Follow-up victims/survivors files and registers.
∎ Responsible to update victims/survivors registers at the area offices.
∎ Orient victims/survivors about the cases and selected areas.
∎ Assist victims/survivors to get legal remedies & review the cases with the clients.
∎ Orient victims/survivors about the cases and selected areas.
∎ Rapid response to HRV at District level.
∎ Organize and Conduct planning meeting with ASK, PNGOs and panel lawyers.
∎ Participate & conduct in meetings, seminars, training, workshops, etc. and represent ASK when necessary.
∎ Liaison with PNGOs, victims/survivors, clients, panel lawyers, community, and GOB and keep them up to date for socio-economic development to raise legal awareness in the community and about the latest developments of the program.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ The applicants should have experience in the area of legal practice.
∎ The applicants should have the ability to handle pressure.
∎ Job location Mainly Dhaka but should have the mentality to travel 15 days monthly anywhere in Bangladesh to support survivors & ASK PNGOs.
∎ Fluency both in Bengali & English.
∎ Should have good computer knowledge on basic Computer skill in Microsoft Office.
Salary: Tk. 18200 (Monthly)
