Oversee the entire dyeing department, including production, quality control, maintenance, utilities, and manpower.
Plan, organize, and direct dyeing activities to meet production targets and delivery schedules.
Supervise departmental managers, shift in-charges, and operators to ensure smooth operations.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Develop and execute the daily and monthly dyeing production plan in coordination with the planning department.
Ensure Right-First-Time (RFT) dyeing and minimize reprocessing or shade variation.
Monitor machine utilization, batch loading, and production efficiency.
Ensure that all dyeing processes meet customer quality standards and delivery timelines.
Standardize dyeing recipes and methods for different fabric types and blends.
Work on cost optimization by reducing chemical, dye, water, and energy consumption.
Introduce new techniques, dyes, or auxiliaries to improve quality and reduce turnaround time (TAT).
Collaborate with the R&D or lab team for shade development and lab-to-bulk reproducibility.
Maintain the highest standards of color fastness, shade consistency, and fabric hand feel.
Review daily quality reports and take corrective/preventive actions for any quality deviations.
Implement and monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Quality KPIs.
Ensure proper operation and maintenance of dyeing machines (e.g., Thies, Fong’s, Sclavos, etc.).
Coordinate with the maintenance department for preventive maintenance schedules and breakdown handling.
Recommend new machinery or upgrades to increase capacity or efficiency.
Ensure compliance with environmental and effluent treatment (ETP/WTP) regulations.
Promote safe working practices and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
Ensure all chemical handling complies with MSDS guidelines and sustainability standards (e.g., ZDHC, OEKO-TEX).
Maintain close coordination with knitting, finishing, quality, merchandising, and planning departments.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to top management.
Participate in management meetings to review production status, efficiency, and challenges.
Identify skill gaps and arrange training programs for dyeing staff.
Mentor and develop future leaders within the dyeing department.
Control material wastage and monitor consumption of dyes, chemicals, and utilities.
Review inventory of dyes/chemicals to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Prepare and monitor departmental budgets.
