∎ Proven experience as a Database Developer with in-depth knowledge of SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
∎ Expertise in ETL development skills using tools like SSIS or other relevant platforms.
∎ Proficiency in database maintenance tasks and performance tuning.
∎ Familiarity with best practices in database security and disaster recovery.
∎ Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
∎ Effective communication and collaboration skills.
∎ Relevant certifications (e.g.,Digital Ocean, AWS, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) would be a plus.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Design, develop, and implement database solutions for both SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.
∎ Write efficient and optimized SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and reporting.
∎ Ensure data integrity, performance, and security in database designs.
∎ Design and implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to integrate data from various sources into the databases.
∎ Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and index rebuilding. Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
∎ Database Scaling: Plan and execute database scaling strategies for handling increased data volume and user load.
∎ Incident Management: Quickly respond to database outages, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
∎ Query Optimization: Expertise in query execution plans, indexing strategies, and stored procedures optimization.
∎ Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of database architecture, processes, and policies.
∎ We are looking for a talented database administrator to support building new databases. The ideal candidate will have experience in production operation support, database development, database administration, knowledge of general database concepts, and basic Linux server administration. Experience with database administration task automation is a big plus.
