- Basic IT skills, basic knowledge of MS Excel & common Mobile applications.
- Have outstanding skills and expertise in communicating by email and the internet.
- Proven experience in development/ humanitarian program management, team management and on Disability inclusion in Development or in Humanitarian response.
- Proven experience working with National NGOs and/or other international stakeholders.
- Identify areas for professional development and share with the Focal at CDD-HQ to enable an action plan to improve professional skills.
- Engage in self-directed learning to grow skills and competencies.
- Seek feedback and support as necessary to improve skills and achieve objectives.
Responsibilities & Context: Job Responsibilities:
- Identification of persons with speech impairment.
- Assessment of persons with Speech impairment.
- Develop treatment plan for the applicable beneficiaries/patients.
- Prepare appropriate periodic plan in coordination with the team manager with specific deliverables and targets;
- Beneficiary home visit for providing therapeutic interventions;
- Set priorities for beneficiaries as per technical standard/SOP.
- Internal referral to applicable services from provided by CDD (ie Rehab, Protection, MHPSS and IRS activities)
- Attending relevant technical/stakeholder meeting at camp and sector level when as as necessary;
- Attending sector meeting meeting at the camp level.
- Taking initiative to provide appropriate assistive device/developmental devices to beneficiaries as required.
- Supporting program team on budgeting for devices with regards to SLT operation.
- Keeping patient register with appropriate information and development/treatment plan.
- Ensuring timely data entry in SurveyCTO system.
- Assisting program team in quality assurance of play/developmental items purchased.
- Raising PR for items necessary for SLT services in the camp in coordination with team leader and accounts.
- Providing weekly/monthly/quarterly technical report as required;
- External referral of beneficiaries to other actors for issues out of SLT coverage spectrum.
- Supporting the Program team with periodic preparation, editorial and sharing of success stories from the field.
- Supporting team leader to compile and report monthly achievement to CDD Management, UNHCR, Handicap International & Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh as required.
- Participate in capacity building of Volunteers in the area of community Speech Impairment identification.
- Periodic review of technical standards as required.
- Any additional task as assigned by the Line Manager.
Safeguarding responsibilities:
- Adhere to CDD's Children and Adults at Risk Safeguarding policy, ensuring the safety and well-being of all project participants.
- Promote a safe and secure environment for all participants and stakeholders of the project.
- Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and follow the designated reporting procedures.
- Additional responsibilities:
- Perform any other responsibility/ special duty delegated by project and CDD management.

CDD simultaneously builds technical capacities of the development stakeholders and the communities in how to be more inclusive whilst also enabling persons with a disability to participate in society by strengthening their leadership and providing them with essential rehabilitation and other supports.

- CDD is planning to recruit one position ‘Speech & Language Therapist’ for the project titled “Inclusive Emergency Assistance to Crisis-affected Rohingya Population in CXB and BC, Bangladesh” which will be implemented with the support of HI. The duration of the project is till 31st December 2025.
